|Reviews for Stargate Effect|
| RandomReader chapter 1 . 7/7
Wow, even by the low standards of many ME crossovers this is dumb. Are you old enough to legally own an account for this site? Your (human) characters behave like 5 year old spoiled children with temper tantrums, you truly believe military professionals act like that?
| Mark1 chapter 13 . 4/12
Its a shame you abandoned this fic, it was really good too!...at least for me...

Valern is lying by telling partial truths here. While it's true that the Salarians didn't choose to deploy the Genophage in the first place, without their active participation in constantly improving it, it would have been cured centuries ago. That's why no one can manage to find a cure for it - as soon as a cure is developed, the Salarians introduce a new version of the Genophage that is immune to the cure.
| Difdi chapter 8 . 11/1/2018
Not merely gullible, naive fools, but they're actively carrying idiot balls. The Salarians wholeheartedly embrace biological and chemical warfare in ways that would be horrifying to anyone in Stargate Command or the general US population. The Genophage wasn't a one-off thing over a thousand years ago, it's ONGOING. The Salarians have to keep tweaking it to prevent the Krogan from adapting to it and becoming immune to it.
The most accurate comparison to the Salarians in the SGC's experience isn't the Genii, it's the Aschen!
| Difdi chapter 7 . 11/1/2018
You keep using the word offensive, and it wasn't an offensive.
Suppose one day, a military force were to land in the middle of the United States, or somewhere in Europe. As soin as they arrive, they witness a police officer attempting to arrest a criminal, and immediately murder the police officer. Backup arrives for the officer, and the backup is murdered too. Eventually, it's SWAT teams and the National Guard responding to apprehend the invaders. That is not an offensive action, that is a defensive action against an invasion.
| Difdi chapter 5 . 11/1/2018
The Citadel forces are not waging an offensive - that would imply they are invading someone else's territory. What they are waging is a defensive action against murderous human pirates that attacked a police force without provocation and are now seizing Citadel territory by force. The humans are an armed invasion force, every bit as bad as the Goa'uld or Wraith so far.
You seem to be very good at writing villains, but you are presenting the humans as heroes when they are not.
| Difdi chapter 4 . 11/1/2018
Again, why are the words of that Terminus ship crew being taken as gospel with zero verification, to the extent that their lies are being stated as facts to government officials? The Codex that the Humans are procrastinating about translating alone would prove the liars are lying.
You are depicting humanity as being hopelessly gullible, foolish and naive here.
| Difdi chapter 3 . 11/1/2018
The Council is a dictatorship in exactly the same way the European Union or United States or the United Nations are dictatorships - not at all. The Salarians and Asari are democratic republics, the Turians are a military meritocracy. Each appoints a Councilor, and the Council votes on international matters.
Why do you have the Humans in this juggling multiple idiot balls and taking the word of a Terminus pirate with zero verification or critical thought? Why are the victims of Lehmon's murderous rampage being considered to be despotic and evil solely because when shot at in cold blood, they defend themselves?
| Difdi chapter 2 . 11/1/2018
So basically, out of misplaced pride at being the fifth race, Captain Lehmon decided that the best way to act was to behave like a Goa'uld? Knowing nothing about the circumstances, he opened fire on a rescue mission, murdering the crews of multiple ships for the 'crime' of being armed in his presence, and starting a war with people that were not his enemies until he decided to murder thousands in cold blood.
I hope you deal with him accordingly in the next chapter or two - he's exactly the sort of person Senator Kinsey was.

Glad to hear you'll continue writing, looking forward to it. Leave the old story up, but mod its title so readers know there is an updated edition..
