A lovely follow-up, perfectly consistent with canon and their characters. It makes sense that Edith's experience would remind Mary of Matthew's comment at the altar. It's so nice to read a fic where the two of them are intimate without it turning into sex. It wouldn't feel quite right for such a night, but this conversation was perfect.

I so appreciate how you express their love, commitment, and need without having to use smut. There is so much smut written that I am finding stories without smut have more weight emotionally. I hope that makes sense! Because some stories contain smut that helps convey the emotion, but lots of smut is just for fun and doesn't particularly do anything for the characters or the story.

Lovely scene! Whatever life has on their way, they love each other so much, and that's the guarantee for happiness.

You write such wonderful story about M/M. You know their characters so well.
This makes me happy as I was missing their married closeness in canon and did not think I would get it so I turned to fan fictions...

Aww! Such a sweet scene - I loved the idea that no matter how much they fought, they always slept in the same bed. :D And I truly adored the idea that Matthew wasn't sure if Mary would show up...but Mary always knew Matthew would. :) So fitting, and so touching - especially given what happened to Edith. "I'm grateful for you." Just...AWW. :D Just beautifully written - keep writing! :)
