Aah this is beautiful! I love the idea that she won't fall asleep until he does. And it has everything - his injury, mythology, "nice as Nice can be", her nursing him! I love the idea that she knew it wasn't just the drugs that made him mumble and everything, but that's just *him*. And I also love the allusions to their lovemaking; very hot. ;)

What a great concept to explore! Sound is an often neglected sense in most fics. It really spoke volumes (unintentional pun) about Mary's feelings for Matthew. Lovely job!

I just love every intimate moment you created here with Mary watching Matthew. How so terribly contented she must feel having him beside her, knowing every little breath and sigh, and the "nice as nice can be" (never thought that could have been something they started on their homeymoon. Great idea! And the "you" at the end, with her response "only you". Absolutely love it!

Aww, Mary! :D I really enjoyed her POV in the bonus First Steps, and it's equally as lovely here. :) I LOVE "nice as Nice can be" and the idea that Mary kisses Matthew whenever he says her name (sigh). :D The ending dialogue was really quite erotic for three words - whew! Such a beautiful tribute to how well Mary knows her husband - even in his darkest hours. Just a lovely read - keep writing! :)
