This felt more...uhh...real than canon! It was well written, and i thoroughly enjoyed it.

Although..

The epilogue...I have mixed feelings about it...

It's very bittersweet, and very realistic. Perhaps i'm a little unsatisfied without a "fluffy ending". At the same time, I like it, probably because of how it was. I can feel the introspective conflict that Kirito faces, and also how he manages to accept it. Every dream has to end sometime. Yet, he is all the more stronger from the experience, as a person.
In the epilogue, there is a sense of loss and uncertainty, but also hope. Thank you for writing this beautiful piece.

Honestly, changing the gender balance even further here is not just unnecessary, its kinda silly. Whilst there is a large gender divide in a lot of game genres, MMOs have a surprisingly balanced demographic nowadays (3/2 in the US), and it is getting more so. I can't honestly see SAO having the ridiculous gender imbalance it did in canon anyway, let alone even more of one.

I have a lot of feelings about this story and at this point, I can't quite put most of them into words. It took me around 3 hours to read it in its entirety - I had a lot of time on my hands. Something about it pulled me in and, once it got me hooked, it never let go. I couldn't stop reading it. It invoked a sense of wonder I have never felt since I read my first SAO fanfic some months ago.

All I have to say is thank you. This story is not a masterpiece, but to me it came close. It came so very close. Thank you very much for this wonderful story.

They can't enter towns? I thought they could but weren't protected by the towns Safe Zone and that any NPC guards would chase and attack them until they left the towns Safe Zone.

That was extremely good. I thoroughly enjoyed the story, especially the battles. The level of detail you put into them allows me to picture them in my head in a way that is rare for fanfiction. Thank you for writing.

After reading the entire thing it becomes clear to me that this story is pure gold. Well, maybe not pure pure, but definitely something like 99.6%.

What I'm trying to say is that it's good.

The word 'good' is used very liberally nowadays. It's come to describe anything and everything that ellicits the briefest hint of a smile. This story is nothing like that. When I say that it's good, I mean that it appeals to me beyond mere entertainment.

You flesh out characters that are canonically pathetic when put under any kind of thorough analysis. You explore the theme of reality between the virtual and real world with respect, or at least with effort, something that SAO itself discarded midway through for some half-assed attempts at romance. Perhaps most importantly, you made me reflect, not just on this story, but on things bigger than it, and that's pretty damn cool if you ask me.
