About time Bella showed she has power and not going to take it anymore from her horrible mother and poor excuse for a father. Now things make sense why Renee has so much power over her husband, he's a jerk for carrying on with other woman while married. Having said that, it seems Renee was more than ok with him with other woman as long as he came home at the end of the day for appearance sake. Shameful the both of them.
Honestly, I hope they aren't pregnant because everything else in their lives so far have gone awry and happened much too quickly. Wouldn't it be nice for them to have a choice when they get pregnant since they don't seem to have had that ability so far. But I'm sure somehow her pills didn't work, go figure She'd be the smallest percentage of the pill not working.

I'll say it again. Bella is an idiot for even for a second conceding to her mother or father. This after funeral scene should be the nail to shut the door between her and her parents. What her mother said to her and how she treated the Cullens was pure evil and ignorant and rude. They don't belong in the white house and Bella better not give in to them with this blackmail that they will take away her grandfather's money from her or Rosalie and Jasper. If she does, I'm done it's just not plausible.

Oh I can't wait for the Cullens meet the Swans. And I think Grandpa was right to think his son was redeemable and maybe he had a heart to heart with him before he passed away. I'm hopeful at least Charlie will change his ways.

Great chapter. It's still ridiculous that Bella's parents continue to force Bella to do their bidding along with James knowing full well the girl doesn't want James and that they are being brutally hurtful and abusive as parents. About time Bella stood up to them. I had a feeling Marcus was going to die but didn't know it was going to be this soon. She really could have used his continued love and unconditional love. Hope her parents step up to the plate now and do the right thing for their daughter.

I do agree with Carlisle's advice. Why should E/B hide their wedding like a dirty secret, they should be able to get married on their own terms and not rush off just to get it done. Maybe Carlisle ought to talk to the senator and give him a father to father talk. j/s
Love Jasper. I think he's going to fit right in with this gang. Maybe he can come to LA with them and become Edward's security head.

I think Bella needs therapy as much as Edward did. She obviously feels unloved and used by her parents and has let herself be taken advantage of by being nothing more than a daughter prop. I actually don't think E/B should rush into this marriage like Edward wants them too. She needs to be more independent before she makes a commitment like marriage.

Just when I think at least Bella's father has her best interests at heart, he goes and becomes a manipulative and selfish prick. Bella is also to blame though for not standing up for herself more and stating that she'd be there for her father but that she too had a life to live and being taken advantage of by him and then being made to sit with that animal ex boyfriend was for sure the last straw so at least she left at that point. I'm getting annoyed at Bella actually. She needs to grow up and grow strong soon.

I really enjoyed EPOV. And I admire him for continuing with his therapy sessions and being honest about his youthful mistakes while living a life most any young person would get lost in and making bad choices just because he could...but he seemed to have grown from that and is now making better choices. I liked how he dealt with Senator Swan and I have a feeling that even though the senator came off as a real jerk he does have Bella's best intentions in mind. I think he probably now respects Edward for how he handled their little chat. And he was the first to say I love you.

I must say Bella was an idiot for pretending to have Indian blood in her when she knew she didn't and then to insert in insincere comments about things like shot glasses that clearly weren't collectables and talking guns pretending to be something she's not. And then to go nutso throwing him into the pool...But it was funny and over the top to read.

I hope Kate isn't going to be a problem. Bella ought to just express her thoughts about Kate to Edward. Very hot possessive, dominant Edward.

Oh Bella continues to find her voice. It was great to see Bella stop both her grandfather and Edward from talking about her as if she wasn't there and she voice what her intentions were and they listen. Bravo. But she slipped back a bit with her father. Yes he seemed to side with her about Edward and stopped Renee from going off about her wanting Bella to just stay with James and felt his apology was enough. I appreciate that Charlie, and his presidential campaign requires some plan for protect Bella and get ahead of the media but they still seem to treat her like a kid.

Loved their 'first' Edward knows how to make a woman happy that's for sure. I love his lack of filter and he seems to like Bella's babbling and they are both charmed by each other. Edward was right to insist that Bella stop 'taking' things from others and rather use her voice to say what makes her uncomfortable, like admitting she wasn't up for more sex because she was understandably sore. Also enjoyed seeing Bella escort her mother out of her apartment when she heard Edward in the shower. And of course enjoyed lunch with Gramps. At least there is someone who is standing up for Bella and watching out for her well being as he discusses with Edward the need for him to not keep his granddaughter a dirty hidden secret.

I'm not really sure if James meant to hit Bella in the car or not as Bella seems fuzzy on that detail. Clearly she should not have been alone with him after the last arm pulling. I think Bella's dad and grandfather need to deal with James and leave Edward out of this. But I think Emmett and Edward will want to deal with James.

Bella's communicating like an adult and as their daughter about her true feelings, wants and needs, was long over due. So glad she stepped up to the plate and found her voice. And really glad she showed her father the bruises James inflicted on her. She should have also explained just how cold and controlling he has been. And Renee is a horrible mother and who wants someone like that as a first lady anyway. If as parents they can't be loving, caring and in tune to their daughters needs then they won't make good presidential material. (sounds like someone else who got in office with those same disqualifications, among others...)

I know that this is the conflict in the story but I really, really, dislike the fact that Bella is allowing, yes, allowing her parents and James, a man she does not want to be with, strong arm her into living in a way she does not want to. I mean really? What woman who feels like this Bella does, would not stand up for herself and say enough is enough I'm not going to live a life that I don't choose but rather others choose for me. This is not Saudi Arabia after all, a woman does have a voice here. And I admire Edward for going to the trouble of getting an invite via his actor buddy George simply to see Bella. But he too needs to give Bella a voice in all this and talk to her and try to get to know why she's allowing this to happen to her. Clearly James is controlling her to fit what's expected. Shameful. The only one with a clear and reasonable head on her shoulder is Rose.
