| Magenta-Skye chapter 1 . 1/24
Ooo...that was terrific with goosebumps and all! You should write one in Gilligan's POV, I think that would be decadently delicious. :)
| J Lahoud chapter 1 . 2/18/2013
A beautifully written MAG...simple yet there's so much there. Always admired folks who could take one moment and bring out a whole story in it.
There's the love at first sight flashback when G-man is pointing out landmarks from the bow of the Minnow. There's the unconditional love for someone who's "a disaster", but that MA still just wants to "run and help". There's the protective love against the judging eye of Ginger. And there's the joy that runs throughout of MA loving Gilligan just for being Gilligan, whatever form that takes.
Also liked the way the first lines had me thinking Gilligan was still self-consciously trying to mimic Duke Williams, but turned out to be him just being his arrested adolescent, free-spirited self...flexing his muscles, skimming stones, yelling to himself, in his own world.
Hopefully MA won't just settle for answering Gilligan's call, but will get up the courage to burst out of the jungle throw her arms around him and finally feel the warmth of that body she so lovingly described. Super story!
| Cristy chapter 1 . 11/12/2012
LOL! Poor girl's got it bad, hasn't she?
Sweet little Mary Ann being all dreamy and voyeuristic, but attempting to justify it as only looking after him as he tends to be a walking disaster! Bless! I like her! :)
I reckon it'd be fun to watch Gilligan on the sly, but for me it would only be to see what sort of antics he's getting up to and no doubt give myself away by laughing. Remember when he was building that bathtub? I LOL'd so hard, especially when the girls screamed and he jumped a mile...sorry, I digress... :)
Lovely little one-shot giving us a fleeting yet telling glimpse into Mary Ann's thoughts. Nice one, teebs :)
| Sideshow Cellophane 26 chapter 1 . 11/12/2012
Hiya again! I honestly have to say, first off: "He's flaxing his muscles again," is the best line in the history of Gilligan fanfic history.
"I don't creep around following him or anything,"
-BWAHAHA! I totally believe you, Mary Ann!
"When he raises his arms you can see his ribs, subtly shaded in gentle undulations beneath his skin. But three years of living on the island has broadened his shoulders a little; all those bananas he eats, not to mention the endless supply of pies I bake for him, have put maybe an inch around his waist."
-That's a little creepy she knows that . . .
"His stomach pulls in and a gap appears between his lower belly and his denim pants. I feel warmth creeping into my cheeks, and I look, unashamedly. "
- . . . Oh my . . . That's creepy. I say that unashamedly while re-reading it numerous times.
"Watching Gilligan skim stones across the lagoon while shirtless is like observing one of the Seven Wonders of The World, something so beautiful it takes your breath away."
- Once again, a *little* creepy, but a sweet line.
Well-done! Applause for Mary Ann, if she has the courage to do that repeatedly. Maybe one day she can show Ginger, prove that G-Man IS indeed a man . . . I totally just laughed at myself for that, sorry.
Without erasing that last part,
| Louise Hargadon chapter 1 . 11/12/2012
Aha! I'm here. You already know how exciting it is that you've written, so I'll leap straight in with Les Point du Bullet!
. "He's flexing his muscles again." Best opening sentence to any story EVER. In history. Since the invention of the story.
. Gilligan wears a shirt AND an undershirt. On a tropical island. That's one man who is prepared for ANYTHING. Except for having his clothes ripped off. Which is peculiar seeing as he looks like Gilligan.
. "I don't creep around following him or anything" Noooo... course not... you tell yourself that, luv.
. "Well, okay maybe I do." There we go, I bet you feel better after admitting it!
. Actually, to be fair, Gilligan IS pretty accident prone, so you're right to follow him just in case he spontaneously combusts or something.
. Gilligan has never been anything but skinny. Woah, there, tall dark and emaciated!
. OMG. Undulations. Ribs. Gah. Someone's been taking an awful lot of notice of a semi-naked Gilligan. Haven't you, Mary Ann?!
. Gilligan having the metabolism of a hummingbird. I dunno why but I got visions of his impression of a flying saucer and I think that'd probably be quite close to his impression of a hummingbird!
. That's right, Ginger - Gilligan is aaaalllllll *MANNNN*. He's more than just a man - he's a mighty sailin' man! Woof!
. The type of man Mary Ann wouldn't want to meet on a dark night. Eeesh, I know those sorts. But she'd happily meet Gilligan on a dark night. Who wouldn't?!
. Does Gilligan see what Mary Ann sees when he looks in the mirror? Man, I hope not - Mary Ann's a girl!
. Gilligan's tan. Butterscotch. I'm suddenly both a little ferklempt and really hungry...
. Pans of warm fudge. Imagine Gilligan saying 'fudge'. *thud*
. Mary Ann! You perve! *applause*
. The description of Gilligan wringing out his hat on The Minnow really made me giggle. I could totally see it happening and I bet it would be a regular occurrence as well.
. HIS DIMPLES! *dies*
. The Voice. Nobody is immune to it. Least of all Mary Ann, but then she is madly in love with him. But still. That Voice calling your name - who wouldn't want that?!
. Gilligan's meticulous dressing routine. How very girly manly of him. Reminds me of another girly manly man we know and love.
. "The shirt once belonged to his brother, but I doubt his brother would want it back now." - although if he did he could always come and rescue you all!
. "Watching Gilligan skim stones across the lagoon while shirtless is like observing one of the Seven Wonders of the World, something so beautiful it takes your breath away." - So she's not really got it *too* bad for him just yet, then? But I can totally imagine how that would be someone's favourite thing about living on the Island. An occasionally semi-naked first mate! I'm in!
. "Like a Howell, I don't run, I just walk, very fast." - Well you don't want to start legging it towards him and then when you catch up with him be breathing heavily like some sort of letch! Not the best look! And walking is easier to look nonchalant over. "Oh! Gilligan! Fancy seeing you here!" Oh we've all been there!
. "I hear 'Mary Ann', soft and gentle, like a warm, tropical breeze" - But that really IS what his Voice sounds like. Perfect description.
. Oh, Mary Ann. The thing is - Gilligan's longing for the day when you feel brave enough to answer him too!
Oh, Teebs! Oh, Teeborama mon ammy my love! I love this story. And I'm sorry it took a while to review properly. But I do love it and I'm so glad you wrote it - and I'm with JWood201, it is SUCH a big deal when you write now. It really is an event. So thank you for this lovely, special treat, taking us back to the Island so we can see the delicate and true love blossoming between our absolute favourite twosome.

Aaaaaw as always AWSOME job ) Do I even need to review? Your writing is always so good.
I've known Gilligan for so long now, I'm more familiar with his routine than even the Skipper. Gilligan likes to explore on his own after his chores are done- sometimes even between chores, and if he can get away with doing no chores whatsoever he'll sneak down to the lagoon before lunch for a swim and a shower under the waterfall. I don't creep around following him or anything, I just...
...well, perhaps I do, to some extent. My reasoning is that Gilligan is such a walking disaster that if anything happened, at least I would be able to run for help.
LOL sounding a bit like a stalker there Mary Ann LOL but a sweet one. I have always thought that Mary Ann had always completely admired Gilligan so much, especially when none of the others do particually.
With a sigh, I turn away from the tree I've been leaning against and face inland, away from the beach. Show's over, I tell myself, and then I smile fondly. Watching Gilligan skim stones across the lagoon while shirtless is like observing one of the Seven Wonders of The World, something so beautiful it takes your breath away. Knowing that he's going to be heading along this very path any minute, I step up my pace; like a Howell, I don't run, I just walk, very fast. And then I hear it, and as always I can't tell whether it's real or just a murmur in my head. There are too many other sounds obscuring the source; birds, banana leaves rustling, distant monkeys chattering, waves shushing on the shore. I hear Mary Ann, soft and gentle, like a warm, tropical breeze, and I long for the day when I'll finally feel brave enough to answer it with a soft call of my own.
Aww I wonder whether Gilligan knows about her watching him and calls out to her or whether it is just poor Mary Ann's imagination.
You know what you should do like a sequal flipped around. Peek into the complicated mind of Gilligan as he admires our faourite Kansas girl. Now that would be AWSOME. Sorry I am starting to ramble ideas now LOL
Anyway once again awsome job, I love to open up fanfiction and see you have submitted something, keep up the great work, you know you always have a fan in me )

| EveningInHornersCorners chapter 1 . 11/11/2012
This was absolutely wonderful! All ships aside, I am a firm supporter of the Mary Ann and Gilligan friendship. This was very well-written and really catches what I see in their friendship; two people who are extremely innocent and extremely close.
I also LOVED how you said that Gilligan was all that Mary Ann would want in a man. Maybe he'll always be a boy in Ginger's eyes, but really, I agree with Mary Ann. He means well, and would never want to hurt anyone or anything. He's a good man who really should have more confidence in himself. I don't know ANYONE who can skip a rock thirteen times, among other things. He's really a wonderful individual who has many gifts that people often overlook. His innocence is one of those gifts.
The fudge bit was also lovely. Not only was his skin that color, but Gilligan really is as SWEET as that fudge too.
Anyroad, great job. This was a really good story.
| JWood201 chapter 1 . 11/11/2012
Wheeeee! YOU'RE BACK! You don't understand how excited I got at work when I saw the email notification yesterday morning. I went and hid in the bathroom to read this. (Yes, I am responsible).
I only have ten minutes to bust this out, but you already know how much I love this through our emails. BULLet points!
- MA creeps on him when he thinks he's by himself. It's kinda creepy, but moreso makes you go "aw." Poor girl loves him so much!
- "He raises his arms above his head and stretches. His stomach pulls in and a gap appears between his lower belly and his denim pants. I feel warmth creeping into my cheeks, and I look, unashamedly. Then he breathes out again and its gone." CAREFUL, MARY ANN!
- "I wish I had the courage to throw caution to the wind, I resist the sudden urge to run down the beach and fling my arms around him and press myself against the warmth of his back." Awww, please! Just do it, girl! It'll startle him, but it'd be oh so nice for her. And if she pretends she's scared or something he won't run away. Sneaky sneaky...
- I love the Minnow flashback. Authoritative!Gilligan showing everyone the ropes and the sights. "He just took his hat off, wrung it out, stuck it back on top of his dripping hair and pointed at another landmark, and then turned and flashed his beautiful dimples in my direction." Hahaha. Trying to act casual after a wave gets him in the face, but he knows she'd be amused (and not in a bad way), so he lets her in on it. Presh.
- "my heart beating just a little faster at the sound of his voice. I hear that voice sometimes when he's not even around, I don't know how to explain it, but sometimes I'll be busy with my own chores and I'll hear my name being called, and I'll ask him about it later and he'll shrug his shoulders and insist it wasn't him." SOB! I bet he thinks about her during the day and she can tell. Soulmates are telepathic like that.
- "And then I hear it, and as always I can't tell whether it's real or just a murmur in my head. There are too many other sounds obscuring the source; birds, banana leaves rustling, distant monkeys chattering, waves shushing on the shore. I hear Mary Ann, soft and gentle, like a warm, tropical breeze." I bet he knew she was there and thought her name and she could tell. PSYCHIC!
Anyway, I'm sorry I have to run, boo, but I loved this. I've missed your beautiful stories so much! You really do have a way with words, you string them together so carefully and magically that this common mundane 5 minutes of a day springs to life and is a beautiful love story. BRAVA!
| TereseLucy384 chapter 1 . 11/10/2012
What a great treat to come home to :D Especially since it starts right out with G-Man flexing his muscles. Heehee - I can just see him doing that.
Let’s bring out some fav moments, shall we?
- “He takes off his shirt, and then his undershirt, and he peers at himself from all angles, in the mirror if he has one, or twisting his head as far around as he possibly can, like an awkward bird, trying to observe the movements of his biceps and shoulders.”
Any time Gilligan takes off his shirt is a fav moment. I love the “awkward bird” imagery.
-“if he can get away with doing no chores whatsoever he'll sneak down to the lagoon before lunch for a swim and a shower under the waterfall. I don't creep around following him or anything, I just...”
If it was me there, MA, you can bet that I’d be following him around . . . and down to the waterfall for a shower? I would so be there.
-“He raises his arms above his head and stretches. His stomach pulls in and a gap appears between his lower belly and his denim pants. I feel warmth creeping into my cheeks, and I look, unashamedly. Then he breathes out again and its gone.”
Yeah – I’d feel a warmth, too. I think I just did . . . YOWZA!
-“The sun gleams on his skin and runs its fingers over his shoulderblades and while I wish I had the courage to throw caution to the wind, I resist the sudden urge to run down the beach and fling my arms around him and press myself against the warmth of his back.”
GAAAAH! That is a fantasy that I could get into. (all right, maybe I already have ;)
-“He just took his hat off, wrung it out, stuck it back on top of his dripping hair and pointed at another landmark, and then turned and flashed his beautiful dimples in my direction.”
Please see my above comment regarding warmth ;)
-“"Lucky number thirteen!" he shouts, unaware that I'm watching him from just off the lagoon path, smiling at him, my heart beating just a little faster at the sound of his voice.”
*sigh * What would I have given to hear that voice? I love his exuberance.
-“Finished with pebble skimming and examining his muscle movements, Gilligan picks up his undershirt, shakes it out and pulls it over his head. He tucks it neatly into his waistband and again my eyes fall to his hips and legs and the way his pants fall in loose creases down to his big, battered sneakers with the trailing laces. He grabs his rugby shirt from the sand, flaps it in the air like a flag and pulls it on, getting caught in it for a moment before his glossy, dark head finally emerges from the proper opening.”
As much as I love this description of him getting dressed again, ;), all I can say is “DARN”
-“Watching Gilligan skim stones across the lagoon while shirtless is like observing one of the Seven Wonders of The World, something so beautiful it takes your breath away.”
Watching Gilligan do ANYTHING shirtless, would be a wonder. Take my breath away, indeed :D
Thanks Teobi. It’s always such a treat to see a new post from you. YAY! :D :D :D

''he's flexing his muscles again' - I am IN, baby!
Oh this was so beautiful. Mary Ann, you really love Gilligan. I just lovedit. Him skimming stones, him twisting himself round to look at his body, Mary Ann being all "What? I'm not looking, whos looking, I'm not looking!" - OH YOU'RE LOOKING!
I totally love how you write and I get so upset you don't write more often because it's such a treat to see how you weave words together into those gorgeous mind-movies that place us totally on that uncharted desert isle, hiding with Mary Ann as Gilligan goes around being all Gilligany. It's a joy and. a delight to read and I cannot wait to review properly when I finally get to a computer. I adored this so piggin much.
Yours in admiring that tight little body with the you know what face
