| Sarah chapter 15 . 9/20/2014
Absolutely loved this story. :)
| Jane Doe51 chapter 15 . 1/2/2014
They're getting married and have moved in together ! Yay !
They're moving on from the pain and the hurt from the past...together.
It's a fitting ending for this story ! I really loved it ! So, thank you for writing it and sharing it ! :))
| Jane Doe51 chapter 14 . 1/2/2014
Awwwww ! oh my god ! This is the perfect gift ! That's a great reminder of the paper frog from the pilot, except that it's plush and with the blue eyes and the smile, it represents Jane and how sorry he is...and that's perfect !
Oh my god (again)...this letter...it made me cry ! It's so damn perfect. A confession of love. An apology. An explanation as to why he's backing off, for her sake, because he loves her...wow ! This is so, so beautiful !
And she truly understands the extend of the whole thing when she gets that Jane was the one who gave her that dream birthday, even if he wouldn't enjoy it, because she would..wow !
And this one kiss...the one she share with Jane is probably her best birthday present ever...awww!
| Jane Doe51 chapter 13 . 1/2/2014
Awww...poor Jane, resigning himself that he wouldn't be seing Lisbon on her birthday..when he had all planned, in Derek's behalf. For Lisbon's sake, that is, but still...
And it's even more painful to have him coming around the idea of letting her go, because she seemed happy with Derek, even if it hurts him like hell...
Now what did he get her for her birthday ? And what did he write her ?
| Jane Doe51 chapter 12 . 1/2/2014
So...Jane is helping Derek throwing the birthday party Lisbon always dreamed of. I hope he'll earn some cookie point for being so selfless that he'd let his rival take all the credit for his doing.
A mix of vulnerability and solidity, symbolizing purity, perfection and joy, the magnolias are indeed a lot alike Lisbon !
And a more private symbol of her love with Jane...leading her to wonder about whether or not she wants him to stop wooing her...I don't think she wants him to stop...because if he did, then it'd mean he'd given up on her...I'mn not sure she's quite ready to face that.
| Jane Doe51 chapter 11 . 1/2/2014
Of course she wouldn't wear the earrings...Jane has been very optimistic on that one...
So, okay, she did say she didn't want it...but she didn't deny his statement that she didn't love Derek, pleading that he left the subject alone. And they kiss. She broke the kiss, but only after kissing him back.
Getting her back won't be an easy task...of course Jane doesn't want to hurt her...but he never did, and yet he did hurt her...
Indeed, Lisbon has to compromise : safety or happiness ? Derek or Jane ? How much longer will she be able to settle for second best ?
So Jane decided to play the perfect little consultant to gain Lisbon's trust back...I'm bit confused, as the matter never was their working relationship in the first place. What matters the most is for Lisbon to be able to trust her with her heart, and that's a whole different subject. But I guess at least it shows Lisbon how serious Jane is with his plan, that he's ready to do all the efforts needed to get her back.
'I love you too'? Mmmh...I don't know...mayve it's ishful thinking from my part but I don't really see Lisbon saying those words without meaning them, not with the way she said them, with all her heart, to Jane. So, for now, until I'm proven wrong, I'm gonna believe that she wasn't speaking to Derek but to her niece or one of her brothers...
| Jane Doe51 chapter 10 . 1/2/2014
Oh My God ! Okay, Jane's plan didn't turn out the way he planned because Derek was here and Jane's hurt was so heartbreaking. But the forget-me-not and his wedding band...wow ! Those are very symbolic, meaningful 'presents'. And the earrings, hinting at a memory related to their six-month anniversary, made in a mineral transforming negative energy to love...it's utterly beautiful. Jane had those since that day...and never got rid of them. Awww...
Lisbon is breaking my heart. Derek may be the ideal boyfriend but she just doesn't love him. Maybe her life lesson would be accepting the fact !
| Jane Doe51 chapter 9 . 1/2/2014
Wow ! Jane's speech at the cementery had me crying ! My God, it was so perfect, so very moving...wow !
And then more feels to come with Lisbon's speech to Angela...and I cried again, because it was again so touching, so moving. Lisbon has such an understanding of Jane, and his love for his family, of his history and how she could fit in it...it's so moving.
Derek...he seems like a decent guy, I can't deny it. I can understand what Lisbon would see in him. A safe bet. He wouldn't hurt her, that's sure. But there's no passion, no intense feeling. Is he really what she needs ? I don't think so...Jane is...she's constantly thinking about him, I think that a damn clue !
| Jane Doe51 chapter 8 . 1/2/2014
Care to remember that, Jane, when it comes to Derek ?
Yeah, it means nothing...sure...that's why they both put all their hearts in this so-called meaningless make out session, I'm sure...that's why Lisbon's body reacted so intensely to Jane's maneuver, sure !
"He had to do it for Lisbon"
Seems like he finally knows what he wants and is now ready to fight to get it ! Yay !
The memory of their first kiss is so sweet ! At the time, there was no hurt feelings ! It's a very cute little scene !
Can't wait to read how Jane is gonna earn Lisbon's forgivenes and make his way back on her life and heart !
| Jane Doe51 chapter 7 . 1/2/2014
Love the flashback but it triggers mixed feelings in me. I found it a beautiful memory,I love the spontaneity of their mutual love admission. But at the same time, it's a bit bitter because of the circumstances that triggers the memory. I mean, you should never think about how you said 'I love you' to someone while sitting in another man's bed.
"You would make a pretty attractive hooker, my dear!"
I had to chuckle ! Jane really knows how to compliment a woman, doesn't he ?
But I guess (and hope) he's the one rescuing her from that pig...
| Jane Doe51 chapter 6 . 1/2/2014
That was what I feared...Lisbon is engaging in a real relationship with Morrisson : three dates and they're sleeping together. While I still think her heart is Jane's, it still hurts...Somehow, that's the reason why it hurts. Because she's trying to make things work with Morrisson so hard. She likes him. But she doesn't love him. She's trying to get control over her life, move on from Jane...but it costs her so much that it's heartbreaking.I mean...get used to the man ? that's a sad perspective !
'Yes, this could work after all'
Yeah, Teresa, keep telling yourself that...you might end up believing it !
But I can partly understand her. After, she thinks she's not enough for Jane. Well, she got it wrong. He's not enough for what he thinks she deserves. What he has to see is she's not happy with Derek. What she deserves...is to have what she wants, and that would be Jane...
This is so, so sad !
| Jane Doe51 chapter 5 . 1/2/2014
Your last sentence makes me very scary...now I'm afraid that it could be more than a one-date thing with Morrisson...
Okay, so now, we know why Jane broke up. Because he didn't feel truly hers. Because his ghosts were too present for him to be entirely involved with Lisbon. And she deserved something who can be truly with her.
This flashback was utterly heartbreaking...I felt like hugging Lisbon all the time...Poor Lisbon...
| Jane Doe51 chapter 4 . 1/2/2014
"she knew she couldn't have him"
Why is that ? It's obviously not because they don't love each other. They do and they both know it...
I love the flashback...the way the team found out about them was funny and I love Lisbon's bossy reaction, but what I love most is Jane's reassuring words to her that he was there. This was so beautiful !
Morrisson asked Lisbon out...of course, Jane doesn't like it...But his trying to explain why was kind of funny. I mean, the way he described him...he could as well have been describing himself (the smug and confident part). But Jane eventually admits he's just plain jealous.
And with that, we have a capital information : he was the one who broke up. But why ? What made him break up with the woman he was (is) in love with ?
| Jane Doe51 chapter 3 . 1/2/2014
A candle-lit picnic ! How romantic !
And Jane is sharing fond memories of his family...that's a huge thing for him !
So at least, at the beginning, they were a happy couple, with Jane putting some adventure on their first date and all...What happened to them ?
In present time, Lisbon decided to go to the scene without him. We can't blame her...
Jane has to learn that his actions do have consequences and it's not bad that he paid the price for it for once.
But it seems that Lisbon's anger at him didn't fade away...I mean : he was merely suggesting to have lunch. Of course, she has a job to do...but she always has to eat, right ? So, I don't know, maybe I'm mistaken, but she seems to hold a grugde. I guess her feelings were hurt pretty bad...
| Jane Doe51 chapter 2 . 1/2/2014
So...it all began when the RJ case was closed, after he tortured the two of them, after they both realized they'd rather die than witness the other get injured...
Jane showed up at Lisbon's place...was it the same very night ? I take it was that night since Lisbon mentioned celebrating but...I'm a bit confused : aren't they supposed to be hurt ? And they're not in the hospital ? Lisbon had two fingers broken...how can she manage to hold two mugs at the same time ? How can Jane take her hand in his ? It's a detail, really, but it had me wondering (yeah, I had this thing where I wonder about silly little things...sorry).
It was, understanbly, a traumatic experience considering Lisbon still has nightmare about it almost a year after...
So, Jane and Lisbon were together for almost six months...so it's been a few months since their break up. What happened ? Was it because of the way it started ? Was it because of the RJ case, because neither of them could let go of the fear ? Or was it totally unrelated ?
Yeah, I guess I'll have to read more to find out !
