Kuwpp2 chapter 19 . 5/4/2021 I'm glad Darcy didn't believe Wickham AND Darcy kicked him out on top of that. |
Kuwpp2 chapter 11 . 5/4/2021 I'm not sure why Elizabeth dislikes Wickham at this point. When did Elizabeth get a chance to sketch Wickham's character. There has been no interaction between the two mentioned, as of yet. |
Kuwpp2 chapter 5 . 5/3/2021 Darcy didn't find it strange that he was asked to interview a maid? Has he ever interviewed any of the household staff? Where's Mrs. Reynolds? Strange indeed. |
Kuwpp2 chapter 1 . 5/3/2021 The battle I had with myself (I was frozen staring at my screen trying to comprehend what I just read in the beginning. Just say no and exit the story...lol) Darcy had been married to Anne! And has two boys! It felt like Darcy cheated on Elizabeth, although they haven't met and Lady Catherine won. I did finish the first chapter and it seems pretty interesting. Well, I'm all in, a look forward to a good read. |
MelodieMLB chapter 41 . 3/18/2021 Thank you. I really enjoyed this. |
Guest chapter 41 . 2/6/2021 Pros: Fascinating AU setup, engaging OCs (Piper 3), engrossing plot, depictions of mature relationships and realistic disability Cons: Elizabeth as Strong!yet!Insecure!Tomboy is a bit overdone. There's a super weird emotionally incestuous relationship between Elizabeth and Bennet, as well as normalization of violence by both Darcy and Bennet (slamming of fists on things, grabbing women by their chins, physically grabbing women and dragging them places despite their protests). Strong themes of paternalism are depicted both critically and uncritically: Elizabeth's opinions are initially dismissed by both, but she is then vindicated. On the other hand Elizabeth being fought over as territory by father and love interest is pretty icky, and it's not examined how that's a bad thing. While women being viewed as men's property is definitely historically accurate, what brings it into icky-incest territory is the additional physical affection between father and daughter (embracing, putting heads on chins, and other gestures shared by her romantic interest), and the direct comparison of Elizabeth as fulfilling Bennet's need for a companion after he is widowed. |
DJArla chapter 41 . 1/22/2021 Wonderful. Beautifully written. Terrific plot |
WayTooEasilyObsessed chapter 1 . 1/13/2021 Hello! I am writing this as a generic review that i will be posting to several works (both yours and other writers) because i wanted to say THANK YOU! in the last few months i have been using the FFN app to indulge as a indulgence and listen to your (and other) stories while walking. For the last three months i have used your wonderful stories to motivate me through the tedious and boring of walking around my sub-division for an hour. its a way to justify spending larger blocks of time to reading other than scholastic related material. and today i was complemented on how much weight i have lost (i have lost a good amount by walking and dieting, but really i have tightened up and lost some of the more noticeable "jiggly bits"). so once again thank you for your wonderful and entertaining stories and for posting them on FFN so that i can listen to them while walking (google assistant does not work for me and thus i am limited to this site. though i would love to do so with the stories on MRR) Once again thank you! |
Hiniwalay chapter 36 . 12/11/2020 you are a master of emotional issues, of emotional conflict and resolution |
Hiniwalay chapter 23 . 12/11/2020 Man. I am learning /so much/. |
Hiniwalay chapter 9 . 12/11/2020 IS WICKHAM A SNAKE? A SUBTLE ONE AT THAT? |
tanseynz chapter 41 . 10/26/2020 What a story! So much happening, so many vivid people you could not mix up, clever plots and subplots and none of this 100% good or evil - people who were human, fallible, capable of mistakes but also of redemption and repentance. This was an engrossing read - worth every minute spent on it. Kudos! |
tanseynz chapter 19 . 10/26/2020 I think Darcy and Elizabeth have made a bad enemy there, through no fault of their own. And I also think Wickham is going to plot revenge for his imagined grievances. Ugh! |
tanseynz chapter 12 . 10/25/2020 Locke is Darcy’s solicitor, dismissed Wickham yet Darcy has yet to ask why, just taking Wickham’s word for it? Yet he knows Wickham has failings. I think Darcy is in for a shock, and no doubt, Wickham will try to shift blame, and then be vengeful. Oh dear! |
tanseynz chapter 10 . 10/25/2020 I’m surprised they don’t choose to talk to Wickham’s previous employer, no matter what Wickham or indeed Darcy have told them. Looking at the past employer’s estate and chatting in passing to his staff would tell them whether the employer is an honest person or not. |
