Cool story. Nice twist. I love McCoy.
| Naithom chapter 1 . 12/5/2012
Interesting premise but the explanation of how McCoy discovered this is a little hard to believe. If McCoy runs into her as she was coming out of the chapel which suggests that he is, at the very least, at the back of the chapel and yet was close enough to hear what she was saying, the woman would have had to have been praying quite loudly.
Also, isn't it a bit presumptuous for this individual to assume that she alone in all the world has ever prayed for Spock? By this point in the ST universe, the friendship between Spock-Kirk-McCoy was well known based on your own point of a lowly crew member discusses the idea of McCoy "baiting him for his own good". Why would this person make the assumption that in the hundreds of close calls and tribulations that neither of his best friends had ever prayed for him?
That said, it's an interesting piece.
