Reviews for Memento Mori |

![]() ![]() This is the best fan fic I have read so far! You are really talented! :) |
![]() ![]() ![]() I've just read through this in about 24 hours. Well, I had to catch some sleep and do some stuff but I've mostly been reading. Consider this a good sign for a story. Also, this was the first longer DW fan fiction I've read since I'm new to the fandom. And I have to say that it was exactly what I was looking for even though I didn't know what I was looking for in the first place... I guess I'm now shipping Ten/Rose. Thank you very much. :) I'd love to be able to give you reviews for all the chapters but typing is a bit painful at the moment with both wrists overstrained. So I settled for this short summary. Is there another chapter coming up? |
![]() ![]() ![]() Wow, great story. Couldn't stop reading! |
![]() ![]() ![]() Brilliant. This is so clever! |
![]() ![]() ![]() Ahhhh! So well done! OMG I'm so happy he's dead but I also wished he would have suffered more! I love the Doctors choices! My gd your talent blows me away each and every time! |
![]() ![]() ![]() There is no way they could let him live. Good thing he is dead. |
![]() ![]() ![]() You are perfect. |
![]() ![]() ![]() I have no words. Actually, I have lots of words, I'm just no sure how to put them into proper form right now. You made Adam so viciously *evil*, even when he was a captive. The Doctor's reaction to him during their meeting was to be expected, but I definitely loved the way you had him decide what to do with Adam. Having the Doctor open and lock the infospike was brilliant and a complete (and ingenious) surprise to me. And the two choices were very in line with what I'd expect an angry Doctor to offer. Despite what Rose might have thought, I think he was still being kind...as much as it was a struggle for him. I definitely had my hands over my mouth as I read the last part of this chapter. For a heart-stopping moment I thought Jack might have been the one who was shot! Eek! Speaking of shooting, was it Jackie who pulled the trigger? She seems to be the only one unaccounted for in this whole fiasco. ;) I'm so glad you posted both these parts together. I don't know what I would have done if I'd had to wait to see how this whole interaction ended. Looking forward to the final chapter (but kind of not, because I don't want this story to end!) |
![]() ![]() ![]() I'm really enjoying your story. You really have angst mastered. Your Doctor torture is epic. Can't wait for the rest of it. Hope it comes soon. |
![]() ![]() ![]() What a powerful chapter. I felt the tension in the fight scenes, you were able to paint the setting with your words. |
![]() ![]() ![]() OOH, SNAP! I knew that Adam wouldn't have taken that lying down, but he got what he deserved. Well, he deserved so much worse, but I suppose death will do. Like I said in my review for the last chapter, I -oddly enough- feel as though Rose got off too easy. Too much happened to her, and she's taking it very well. I don't think I, or many people at all, would be able to handle being tortured, captured, hurt, neglected by the Doctor, and becoming a murderer as well as she took it, and she's only nineteen. Perhaps her way of coping with it is to push her feelings down until she bursts, and I feel like Adam's death should really be the final straw for her. It's strange, but my favourite fics are the ones where Rose breaks. I feel as though the Doctor has really had enough. You explained it so perfectly in one of the last sentences: "The Doctor looked weary: not shocked, not relieved, just tired." He's just done. He's finished with his personal suffering. Adam is gone, so it's healing time. Rose's wounds have not yet scabbed over, and they're still raw and bleeding. She hasn't been able to heal yet. Great fic! Can't wait to read the rest! |
![]() ![]() ![]() Wow! Just wow! I imagine how hard it was for you to think of a suitable punishment for Adam. And I must say it was amazing! And even though he should be receiving his punishment, I am kind of glad that he died so he can't come back to hirt them again. Really well planned ;) *claps* |
![]() ![]() That was worth the wait. :) |
![]() ![]() ![]() OMG OMG! The confrontation has begun! DUN DUN DUUUN! I am LOVING the way this is going! And it is a very interesting dialogue! I think you thought it really well on how to write this. Great work! *runs off to read the next chapter* |
![]() ![]() ![]() Wow! That was intense. I never thought the Doctor would actually offer choices like that. I kept thinking he was going to change his mind and do something that "fixed" Adam. Or I thought Rose was going to speak up and ask the Doctor for mercy like she did for Cassandra on Platform One with the Doctor overriding her request. But I never expected Adam to die, certainly not like that. I loved how you had the brain box get stuck open. That was genius. I loved how the Doctor gave choices just as Adam had. Good irony. And I loved how worried the Doctor was about the idea of losing Rose. Pulls on the heart strings. It was a good finish to a great story. I just hope Adam unknowingly saved Rose from ending up in the alternate universe. Now, THAT would be ironic. Adam does everything he can to pull them apart, make them suffer. But his actions end up keeping them together, giving them what they truly want. I suppose having Rose stuck in the alternate universe would be a good ending too. I would just cry so hard I might suffocate. (And I'd have to start calling you Moffat.) Oh, I can't wait to see what you do to finish this off. I have no doubt. It'll be spectacular. |
