| Shadows in the Light chapter 2 . 1/24/2006
This was quite possibly the best duel monsters story out there. And, to be honest, I always was afraid of what my cards thought of me when I sacrificed them. Celtic Guardian's input was very helpful in that regard.
| Philomena chapter 2 . 9/5/2003
*like a drone* Must review...Must tell author what I think...*blinks* _ - _ - _ good story...seriously I liked it, it gave me a new perspective on duel monsters
| Alex Warlorn chapter 2 . 8/25/2003
Having played Forbidden Memories, I have to say that the tribute rules are the only thing that keep the game from turning into a simple test of brute force. (Maybe it shows Kaiba has a sense of sportsmenship since without tribute his blue eyes were almost unbeatable.)
| riskygamble chapter 2 . 7/2/2003
Great job! You did an excellent job, and I look forward to reading more of your work. Romance and fanconventions aren't what all readers look for, you know... ;) Magnificent work!
| loanshark chapter 2 . 4/6/2003
this is beautiful! :) i really love this story, it's great! i actually read your lord of the rings story first, and then went to your author's page to see if you have any other stories there, and found this one! (i happen to LOVE yugioh almost as much as i love lotr, btw)
so...great job done here! hope you write more...great GREAT story! :):):)
| Hysteric Polaris chapter 2 . 3/7/2003
This fic is truly beautiful. I always worry, when I play the card game, about the tribute monsters' feelings. As a believer in the Heart of the Cards, I try to give every monster a chance to be on the field and try to keep them there as long as possible. DM and CG are my favorites, and I'd never take them out of my deck. In fact, the only time I've ever lost a duel is when I've run out of deck! _ All thanks to the Heart of the Cards- and you for making me feel better about tributing. *randomly glomps DM & CG*
DM & CG: x_x;;
I also would glomp MoBC, but he isn't in my deck yet! ;_;
MoBC: *from wherever he is* o_o;
Comments on your fic: Truly moving (or was that just the Brainwash card? o.O;; ), and in my opinion- perfection! Especially for a first fic. Great work!
| Sheron chapter 2 . 2/19/2003
Wow, that was wonderful! I mean, I really enjoyed that although I didn't expect to, half as much as I did. Thanks for making them so kind and.I ? :D
| Dark Secret chapter 2 . 12/23/2002
Ah...wonderful. Absolutely. A story worth read for all. Maybe it has a deeper meaning?
| torpedo chapter 2 . 12/9/2002
Brainwash card has now lost it's effect, leaving KAylen with nothing to say
Well, cool story, excellent psychological stuff!
I love it!
| Sailor Comet chapter 2 . 8/14/2002
I liked that a lot. _ I get tired of all the romance fics out there too - it's very nice to find some variety.
The conversations are very convincing, and you balance out the dialoug well with descriptions. You've also done a great job giving character to the monsters, considering how *little* the series gives you to work with on that. (at least, as far as I know, it does't give you much. I could be wrong.)
Yeah. I love your fic, just so you know. _ The bit at the end where Yuugi goes through his cards tops it off perfectly.
| The Mad Fangirl chapter 2 . 8/5/2002
Hello! It's TMF, finally back at a computer, with a subscription form for the English version of Shonen Jump in my Comic-Con bag (woohoo!). If anyone's ever owed anyone a review, I owe you this one, and so I'm happy to say I loved this story! It's well written, the monsters have personality, and frankly I like that you played Kuribo against type :). The fic is also nicely accessible to those of us who haven't had access to the manga in the past, or have relatively sketchy knowledge of the DM rules, though you've been faithful to both of the above (according to your notes, that is - you know I can't check you :).
I should also say again that I'm grateful for your catching the inconsistencies in my work, so in that spirit: You use the Japanese name for the Dark Magician a couple of times - he's the Black Magician in a couple of places. The other thing I found may just be due to my unfamiliarity with YuGiOh - does regular Yugi share the Game King title? If not, who's in control at the end of the fic? If so, forget I said anything :).
Anyhow, this was a fun, well written story working in DM procedure - thanks so much!
The Mad Fangirl
| Chugi Moto chapter 2 . 8/1/2002
Ha! I play the de-spell on your brainwash! ...too late. Good fic!
| Heir Guardian chapter 2 . 8/1/2002
You asked me to check out your story and so I have and I love the way you put the game into words. This was a vewry interesting read and it makes me look at the game differently. I'm off to a duel right now with some friends and I think I might have to change my deck a bit. Thanks for the inspiration.
