*SQUEEEEEAAAAAAALLLLLLLL* This is hands down one of the best Merthian fics I have ever read! I can't believe it's over, actually (but continued in Highest Bough, which I also loved). As usual, the description, characterisation and dialogue are SPOT ON. Will definitely be using this story as a template for how to expand and develop a character. Great work!

The dialogue between Arthur and Merlin in this chapter, particularly that of Arthur, was so full of maturity and flowed in a natural fashion. It's fascinating to speculate on what Arthur would have thought about a potential woman for Merlin. I tend to think that his high esteem for Merlin's qualities (particularly loyalty, selflessness, bravery), would make him approve of any potential woman. After all, we know that all the teasing is just that: teasing. I also love the sense that Arthur does not want Merlin to face the same pitfalls as he did with Guinevere, and that he has the confidence to encourage the same happiness as was offered to him. As always, great characterisation (nicking dumplings, yes, Merlin is a total thief!) throughout! The scene where Merlin asks Rodor's permission to court Mithian was both hysterical and so sweet!

I can't stop laughing at the kissing scene, and then their reaction as Arthur interrupted! Too funny! Also a great kissing scene, plenty of lovely sensory details there. I also thought the dialogue here, particularly of Mithian as she described the importance of holly, was incredible- in this chapter, she comes across as very developed and more aware of others. The snow description was gorgeous, and I had such a vivid image of Mithian stepping out in Camelot- the whole chapter, in fact, was so vivid. But the kiss! Yes! Great chapter, Oz!

I was really impressed by the quality of dialogue in this chapter. I think you did an excellent job with Mithian's mixture of charm and good humour, making a great contrast with Merlin's own humour which still seems offset by a great deal of sadness. LOL, I think Arthur for once got wind of things here! Great chapter, looking forward to the next!

You had another Merthian story? Surely not! XD While reading this, I realised that everything you wrote here was almost an exact match of the headcanon I had developed for this pairing back in 2016. How about that? I love the rich characterisation here, particularly the subtle ways in which you demonstrate the burgeoning attraction between Mithian, as well as Merlin's pain at hiding his magic. Also: reveal! Great chapter!

There's nowhere near enough good Merthian on any of the sites, and I didn't really ship it the first time around (just didn't stick out) but now it just makes so much sense and I love the idea of them together!
Unfortunately, as it is a rather small ship in comparison to others, I still haven't managed to find a reincarnation fic with this pairing :(
