Loving this story so far! Its just different enough to keep me wondering what will be the same and what will change. I like the book and movie mix. Looking forward to reading the rest!

This has probably been the best girl-Bilbo story I have ever read… please, keep writing! :D

Hi! I'm sorry for never reviewing. If you are still here, I don't expect my comment to ever really do the trick, but know that it's been years since I've read this story and I still think it's the best Hobbit fanfiction I've found. I started reading this when I was 16 years old, and I remember riding in the car with my dad and cracking up because I got to the part with Bella almost falling to her death and instead of having a lifetime of flashbacks, she could only think of Lobelia running off with her spoons.

It's crazy to think of how much has happened since then. I'm 25 now, married and long-since moved out of the house. I've got my own career, two cats, and the world has moved on in many ways big and small. And your fanfiction was a tiny part of those years of my life. I hope you're still with us, and I hope you're thriving. x

I know many including myself would appreciate an author update just to let us know that you're okay, and if you're not, I'd want to know how I could pray for you and if there's any other way we could support you. Much love. x

I’m so sad that you have updated in 5 years! Are you ok? I’m worried that you’ve died or something…

I’m surprised that they are all taking it rather well? Shouldn’t some of them be a little more….I don’t know….angry about it? Mostly because these are “macho dwarves on a quest to take back their Kingdom Under the Mountain and Gandalf decides to turn it into a joke and invite a hobbit along….a FEMALE hobbit at that”. And wouldn’t these macho men feel that “this isn’t no place for a lady!” and therefore be quite upset about it? I mean, most of them are treating her the same, but realistically? They wouldn’t have started to tone down the cursing and swearing and started acting a lot more like Bifur. I mean, I’m glad they don’t, because she wants to be treated as an equal, but the truth is that they wouldn’t be able to help it. The female species has a softening effect on strong tough men like them, I’m sure. Especially since some of them are married and have children, so they would show her the proper respect as a woman.

I was hoping that at least ONE of them would piece it together simply because of noticing the way that the dwarves would unconsciously treat her with more gentleness. I mean, it would be very obvious once you see Dwalin start to be more gentle around her. You’d totally know something was up!

But anyways, I’m guessing that everyone is going to know until Thorin finally finds out. I bet he finds out AFTER he sends her into Smaug, haha! And then he’s like “I can’t believe it!” I’ll just keep reading and find out, lol.

I can’t help but feel that one of the other reasons that Thorin has been so angry and distant from Bilbo this whole time is because he’s attracted to her, but he thinks that she’s male and so Thorin feels that there’s something wrong with himself because he’s attracted to Bilbo, haha! I bet it’ll be a HUUUGE relief to him once he realizes that he’s been attracted to a woman this whole time, lol! It would make sense that he had such animosity towards Bilbo. Love it!

I’ve been loving this story so much so far! The slow burn between Thorin and Bella/Bilbo is so wonderful and I loved the bantering and exchange of insults.
It wasn’t boring the way that Bilfur found out! I think it’s so awesome and I would like to know HOW he found out, lol. On to the next chapter!

Can I just say that I've really enjoyed this without feeling like it's over? I don't speak English very well, so I apologize if anything I write is misunderstood or not understood at all (I admit I relied on a translator many times to read and write this), but I find it exciting the way you are stringing the words together in the text. I must say, thank you very much! I loved it more than I've loved any other text (book or fanfiction) in a long time, and it kept me on the edge of my seat at the plot twists. Also, I look forward to more adventures of Bella and her dwarves (if you finish it) and, if it doesn't have an ending as such, at least I'll take away a good memory.

*Stitch voice* "It's long and unfinished, but still good. Yeah, still good."
I think this is my 3rd time reading this from start to current, first time since 2017. I hope you're doing well despite "current" events. If you come back to finish this eventually, you can know I'll probably read the whole thing for a 4th time. But if you've moved on for good, I want to wish you the best and thank you for the wonderful journey.

Please finish this story! I read all of it just tonight against my better judgement hahah! I enjoy Bella relationships with all the Dwarves, especially how she has a distinct interaction with each one. I think your story is unique in that regard. I’m excited to finish reading it and have favorited/followed it in the mean time!

Why is it that my two favorite Hobbit fanfics have not been updated in years (you've done better than the other, hasn't been touched in five)!? Please, you promised not to abandon this. I am willing to wait till you are old and grey, but that is a long long time away, I think?
Thorin hasn't even found out yet! His reaction will probably be surprised, and then accepting. Or has he known the whole time like Ori?

Let me know when you finish some of those chapters! Your story is too good not to finish. :)

please, please don't end this in tragedy. I can't cope with it if you do, it's beautifully written and my mind can't cope with Bella losing him. oh, and a happy ending for Kíli and his red-haired elf lady?
