This story is excellent, pure and simple. I thought I'd just skim a chapter, then found myself blazing through all eleven chapters over the course of a day.

You've captured the complexity and maturity of Thane's thoughts beautifully. He's really not like anyone else on Shepard's team, and this story embodies that concept well. Your Shepard is a delight - it's not often one encounters an Engineer iteration of the Commander.

I like your restructure of the story, having the full ground team leave the Normandy to retrieve the Reaper IFF while the Collectors attack. That bit always rang a bit contrived to me in in ME2; this re-telling is much more smooth.

The scene where the crew was watching the comet in the observatory was absolutely...well, gorgeous. Like another reviewer already said, it made me wish I were actually in the scene myself. I love that you added the detail of Thane being able to see Hanar ultraviolet bioluminescence and how it excluded him from everyone else during that whole scene, just being able to see that extra bit of detail that everyone else wasn't.

That was amazing. Sensual, sexy, and completely tasteful. I really don't know what else to say - oh wait...

I really liked the dialogue between Thane and Shepard, and how she was talking about her own memories and the fact that she couldn't be sure that they were her own. That VI analogy just completely nailed how I envisioned Shepard to feel like after she woke up in the Cerberus facility. I also adore how you weave some of the in-game dialogue into your writing, but it isn't completely derived from the game, and yet it still feels so damn natural.

And Thane/Shepard sexytime was amazing, like I already said.
