Interesting look at the ins and outs of the Carolina-Maine-Sigma triangle. Did Dr. Church intend for his daughter to be the host to the Meta? I'd say 'no'. The Meta was a side-effect and proof that things didn't always go according to his scheme. He never appreciated just how ambitious, callous and cunning Sigma could be and, therefore, he didn't anticipate what the little megalomaniac AI would do to Maine's mind.
Actually, I do wonder if Carolina's far stronger personality and will may have stood up to Sigma's attempt to poison her mind. With Sigma, she would have probably been the equal of the Texas/Omega symbiosis and therefore there would not have been the external validation issues that Sigma used to influence her in the show.
I don't think that knowing Tex was an echo of Allison, or at least her father's semi-idealised memories of her, would have changed anything. If anything, to see a facsimile of her mother parading around and being treated like a favourite pet by Dr. Church would have just added an edge to her hostility. That's unfortunate in a way because I suspect that Tex was enough like Allison that protecting Carolina would have been a priority and I think that the two of them would have made for a great team.
Although I admit that Tex talking to Carolina like she was 'mom' would seriously weird everyone out.
