I'm currently reading your story now (and enjoying it just so you know), but I have a question... Maybe I've missed something while reading, but in chapter 9 the name of the victim is Jonathan.. A few chapters later they are all talking about Steve...? :) It got me a bit confused, cause I couldn't remember a Steve ;)

I have just spent the last two days reading this one. I am actually amazed at how much depth and detail you are able to go into when writing about the case. You weave together the romantic storyline and the detective plot seamlessly and I am seriously in awe of that. If you weren't trying to get Rizzles to happen at every turn, TNT should probably be knocking on your door to have you write cases for them ;) . I loved the way you got Maura and Jane back together - there wasn't too little tension because even though they loved and missed each other, Maura had truly left Jane behind in her time of need and it would take quite a lot for someone to get past that. I did kind of hate you a little when you forced Jane to go undercover and leave everyone. I couldn't imagine going undercover and not being able to see my friends or family for what could be weeks or months. Ah, you write so well and so realistically. There are a few proofreading errors in the story, but nothing major. You could write a crime novel. If you do tell me :D !

so you can't erase part of the recording? I'll have to do a bit of research on wires later… but I guess it makes sense to just record on a small piece of hardware, no buttons or anything to make it any bigger.

Gallery opening? One train wreck, coming up! Ahhhh…!

I can't believe I never read this story. I know all your others and loved pretty much every one. I guess I didn't like the premise of Maura leaving for a year? But I'm glad I tried it anyway. So far, it reads like the story that I've always wanted someone to write: A loves B, B doesn't love back, something changes, B falls for a but A moved on. Except of course, it's a story so I'm guessing there'll be a happy ending after all (also, Maura clearly didn't move on in the way she might've wanted to). Any way, I love the basic idea - and your writing is always good! The only thing I'll never understand in any fanfictions involving Jane (and Maura) to go undercover is how they expect to go unrecognized. They've been in the papers and on tv so often! That said, I'm going to shut up now because I'm hooked and need to read on and find out if they're going to involve Maura somehow (they're observing her walk away. Why are they observing her walk away?) One last thing: again, thumbs up for the details. How Jane's routine to leave when the other lieutenants arrive is so ingrained that she isn't even puzzled in that moment why Cavanaugh told her without any - then - apparent reason.

This chapter gives me the flutter, the chill kind, and it makes me hard to breathe. Kinda funny when I think I could feel that way. LOL. Love this fic!

Just discovered this story and loved it!

I'm late to the party, but I finally read it.
Your story is fantastic. There are a few fanfics out there that actually follow a crime, and you created a good plot and I really liked it. While I was reading, all I could think of was that your plot was even better than the ones on the show. Ain't it fun?
Anyways, I really liked your story and I'll be sure to check some other stories written by you.

I downloaded this fic from the fanon project thing (it came across my tumblr dash and I decided why not) and read it on my kindle during what should have been a hellish day of travel yesterday. Your story was so wonderful that I was grateful for all the delays because it meant I could keep reading uninterrupted. There were so many things I loved, and I can't write them all out because 1) I can't recall all of them, and 2) I don't want to leave you a novel, so I'm just going to summarize the basics. I loved that you had Maura be the one who left, and her vulnerability when she finally came back was fantastic. I also loved the crime plot you built in because it was A focus of the story, but it wasn't THE focus of the story, and it was a super cool backdrop. There were some themes I noticed running throughout, and though I can't remember them now, just know that I appreciated what you did with them when I read it. One of my favorite, favorite things you did was the symbolism of Jane's injuries. At the start, she wouldn't let Maura near her to help and she even hid her abdominal injury. At the end, she was leaning on Maura for support. It was perfect.
One thing I did notice that bothered me a bit was the word "orbs" for eyes. I have no idea why, but every time I read it, it totally threw off the narrative for me (it could totally just be me). But seriously, that's me just being nitpicky because this fic was absolutely wonderful. I'm looking forward to slowly making my way through the rest of your works because if this is any indication, they'll all be incredible.
