Oh, this is very good! Although, if I were Gandalf, I'd be very very VERY suspicious of the mention of Brandywine, after all Gandalf, being who he is and having had dealings with both Elrond and Galadriel, has enough experience with the gift of foresight to recognise a possible reference to a possible future. I suspect he might even try to get rid of Bilbo along the way, seeing as this is clearly not a normal hobbit but possibly a stranger posturing as a hobbit, and thus an unknown entity that might put Thorin's quest in danger. ;)

Well there we have it, Thorin! I liked this, you make Bilbo so 'human' and imperfect in that he can face some better then others, that little moment with Ori was so cute, and that sign, that sign! HAHAHAHAHA! This is a very good story and your developing it very well, I looks toward to further chapters, hopefully on the near future. Well done and best of luck.

oh God, I think I'm in love! Because this is absolutely brilliant! I honestly don't know how you did it but you made me completely immerse myself into the story. I can see that Bilbo is quite naturally distraught over his situation and I liked the way you portrayed the effect seeing Thorin again would have on him.
I can honestly say that this chapter has ridden me completely of any doubts I had about Mary-Suishness of Bilbo and the quest. It takes a great author not to fall prey to the allure of having everything go perfect and I'm sure that you are one of those authors.
Please, update soon. I'm in serious need of my Hobbit feels :)

I like seeing Bilbo feel more bittersweet like in the last chapter, with that terrible mix of elation and heartbreak. I like that each death and seeing that dwarf alive just reinvigorates the promises he makes to himself. I'm eager to see what Bilbo's plan is with the ring!

My god, this is a real tearjerker! I LOVE the way you intersperse the memories of their deaths and quotes, it's absolutely perfect and I tear up every few paragraphs lol. Aw, gosh, Moria - poor sweet Ori! & The part where Bilbo insists that Thorin save himself if ever the two are in peril was amazing, and Gandalf's reaction is fantastic. I can't even tell you how amazing this is; I have no doubt that Bilbo won't be remotely like a Mary Sue - with someone who can write like you, I sincerely doubt you'd fall into such an obvious trap. And now, to reread this chapter - can't wait for the next one!

I also know that no matter what Bilbo does, things have a way of changing for the worse even when things seem to go his way.

oh goodness, this is just... unbelievable... you are amazing, I was almost crying myself reading Bilbo seeing Thorin again, and all this... it is so very hard to read because of all those feelings... but still I can't wait for more, thank you so much, I really really hope that Bilbo will be able to change things and save his friends from their terrible fate and awful mistakes. And I can't help wondering what exactly They wanted from him putting him into all this again... Oh my God...

good good, mistakes need to be made, im sure he may end up with all of them surviving the battle of 5 armies, but with injuries and defenite time needed to heal and repair. thgat and eventually hell be cornered by gandalf for his...oddity.
