Reviews for White Handkerchief
mertzpenelope.6 chapter 1 . 1/13/2015
Hello There!

I don't know if you remember me, I was reading this story while it was still being written. I used to write some phrases in Greek and later, sign as Me!.
I got all nostalgic today and thought to come see my first fandom. Of all the stories I have read, this one was the first that came to my mind and after re-reading this chapter, I got reminded why I loved it so much.
Also, I read some of the reviews I left you, and realised that many of them didn't make much sense... Please forgive me, English is not my mother tongue. On top of that, now that I read them after 2 years, I find them kind of arrogant and show-y off-y?
Last but not least, I had made you a promise, and I really want to keep my promises. I am going to read all of your other works and review them..

Hope you see this soon enough...

Hi there.

I particularly liked the ending, set in present day in Forks.

(That was a short review for me.)

God Bless. Have a good Advent season.

Hi there.

Another review from me.

I like how you have Esme wanting to experiment with making new foods. It's very in character for her. Especially at this point, considering I suspect Charles told her EXACTLY what to cook.

One of my favorite scenes in "Twilight" is when Edward brings Bella to his house. Rose's attitude is "Do we REALLY have to meet her?" Everyone else is, "If Edward wants to introduce us to her, I guess we'll be nice."
But Esme is, "I have someone I can cook for! I can use the kitchen the way it's supposed to be used!" Someone who had that attitude would have loved cooking and making new dishes when she was human. Very few people notice this.

You'll probably hear from me again soon. But God Bless until then.

Hi there.

Me again.

This isn't too bad.

I particularly liked Esme's musings about Charles being "the prince my parents sold me to."

I think it's ironic that in a traditional story, the vampire is the monster and the handsome human/prince comes in and rescues the heroine. But in Esme's case, the human was the monster, and her vampire was her savior. Her thoughts on Charles vs. Carlisle touch on that in this chapter. (Although she has NO IDEA that Carlisle will save her at this point.)

God Bless to you and have a good Advent season again.

Hi there.

Me again. Did you expect another review so quickly?

I did say I like to read about couples already "in love'' (particularly married couples). But I do like to read about Carlisle and Esme courtship, so I can understand the context for their current relationship. Besides, like I said before, I don't have to worry about pre - marital sex with them, so it's easier to get invested in the stories.

And I've always had a soft spot for "first meetings" no matter which couple I'm interested in.

Another thing I'm always interested in with Carlisle and Esme is WHY did she climb the tree in the first place? A sixteen - year old girl doesn't just climb a tree for the heck of it, especially back at the turn of the century. So there has to be a reason for it.

I've read versions where it was simply a desire to rebel against her parents, who were forcing her to attend too many society parties. I've read versions where she wanted to see the world from that view point (because she was an artist who found beauty in nature). I've read versions where she wanted to help her siblings rescue a cat (appealing to her mothering nature). All of those explanations work for me.
But your reason works for me, too. She was bothered by her parents and wanted to read in solitude for a while. And since Esme wanted to be a teacher, it makes sense she liked literature, too.

I am glad you like my long reviews. I may be giving you more of them.

God Bless and have a good Advent season. (It's nice I'm actually able to say that.)

notsodelicious chapter 3 . 8/2/2014
Poor Esme ! For my part, I loved my history teacher this year but apparently ... Not our Mummy Cullen ! :) How bad she would have felt ... I hope her classmates teasing won't last for too long .. For her own sake.

I really loved this one too ! :)
notsodelicious chapter 2 . 8/2/2014
Loved this one too ! :)
Carlisle's already in love with her ! And I now understand why you gave this specific title to this story ! :)
notsodelicious chapter 1 . 8/2/2014
I loved this one ! :) Feeling like it's a real Esme's mother here. Some people just see her parents as monsters because they didn't agree to help her when she was abused by her husband but I feel like they were kind of forced to do so because of the social customs ... They weren't that pleased to learn that I think. We can see here that Esme's mom seems gentle but yet a bit authoritarian ... But not so much.
Good one :)
