| omh666 chapter 14 . 1/5/2023 Just wanted to poke at these numbers quick. When we convert all the debt into SS, we have a grand total of 198,065. If we don't count the G that's being charged daily, we're looking at 66,022 hours of work to pay it off. This is all assuming no interest as well. We can divide that in half because there's two of them working it off. So, we're now down to 33,011 hours for each of them. If we assume 10 hour work days, then we're down to 3,302 days of work to pay things off. Again, that's without interest, and without the G a day for the lodging. With the G daily for lodging... The G is 17 SS, so we add 17 a day. Then we subtract 3*10*260 SS a day. That means you're lowering the debt by 43 SS a day. Which puts the pay off days to 4,607 working days. This obviously doesn't count any sick days etc. I imagine goblins wouldn't give holidays off for the prisoners, and this doesn't count interest. But still... Looking at a total of 12 years and a month or two. |
| omh666 chapter 10 . 1/5/2023 I get plotwise why you did it. However, what reasoning is there for those spells to be first cast on Wormtail in his rat form? There was no actual reason given in the chapter. Dumbledor just sort of "could you test this rat because you're standing here?" Why isn't he testing the owls, or cats, etc? It didn't do anything out of the norm to cause suspicion... Just, feels a bit like plot armor. |
