Wow, Economically speaking, Magical Britain is going to the dump if every muggle born/raised magical go on exodos back to the muggle world if they want better pay. High Unemployment rates leading to inflation, which would then result into depression.

Socially, that would Magical Britain would be found out eventually when most (if not all) the muggle born/raised come back with barely acceptable credentials to even work in the rank and file of businesses, and be registered as 'homeschooled' individuals. This part about culture is really nice worldbuilding. The titles and names are boring, family magics are standard, but the bits about how to behave, how to apologise properly and so on are really nice.
Also, good job on the magical guardian subplot. I feared there would be more bashing because of that

Actually, the whole thing feels savage and like something he wouldn't have let happen to himself. Like what he did with members of his House to help them understand the subject, it could be enough to fill the gap in workforce and the crisis wouldn't be as visible. Honestly, if it was as bad as to cause a lynch on him, it would've been stopped earlier.
