I know I'm late to this party and you might never see this, but this story was absolutely amazing! The pacing, the build-up, Uncle Lance! I'm incredibly thankful that it was returned to the site. Absolutely wonderful!

You’re characterizations, dialogue and plot are absolutely beautiful :). Usually I have the habitt of skimming through fanfiction, but you’ve got me hanging on every word.

I really love this story and revisit it every now and then. Thanks for sharing. I am always amazed on how well you managed the time in this fic and the characters evolution. Thanks!

Temple Cloud chapter 34 . 2/10/2019
Hmmm, rewriting this as an original story? Maybe that could work - after all, 'Shards of Honour' by Lois McMaster Bujold, the first book in what became the brilliant 'Miles Vorkosigan' series (if you haven't read these, I wholeheartedly recommend them), started as a 'Star Trek' fanfic about a female human officer and a male Klingon officer who found themselves needing to work together, before Bujold decided to make the hero and heroine two humans from very different planetary cultures. And I've read that 'Fifty Shades of Grey' (which I haven't read and don't want to, but it's certainly sold a lot of copies) started as a 'Twilight' fanfic - though, erotic as your writing is, I don't imagine that you'd want to write S&M porn.

Your story isn't particularly closely tied to J. K. Rowling's stories, except that its characters were born there, but it IS tied to the fandom tradition that has grown up of the Ministry of Magic enforcing laws compelling everyone to get married and restricting whom they can marry. Outside the Potterverse, have you thought about what kind of setting might pass laws resulting in similar marriages of convenience? After all, neither Hermione nor Severus seems like the kind of person who would rush into marriage with someone they barely knew and didn't love, unless there were pressing reasons why they had to.
Temple Cloud chapter 27 . 2/8/2019
Jedi Force choke! Well, Severus Snape is clearly intended to have echoes of Darth Vader: tends to wear black a lot, fights using a spell that cuts like a sword, had loved Harry's mother yet caused her death, kills Harry's (and his own) mentor (who later turns out not to have been quite the straightforwardly good, trustworthy person Harry had assumed), and is someone we come to care about enough that we cry when he dies (except that fortunately, in fanfics Severus doesn't have to).
Temple Cloud chapter 22 . 2/7/2019
I'm not sure you needed to write an adultery warning, as it looked fairly obvious that the plot might lead in this direction. But the reason 'Goblet of Fire' did not need a character death warning in the text itself was that we had already been warned in the pre-release publicity that Rowling was going to start killing off characters in every book from this one onwards. Rowling reported that young readers begged her not to let Hagrid or Ron get killed. 'Aren't you worried about Hermione?' she would ask, and get the reply, 'Nah, Hermione can look after herself.'

The fidelity rings seem a good idea badly put into practice, as, if they burn the finger of the cuckolded spouse, they are a deterrent to adultery only until people stop caring about hurting their partners. Couldn't they just as easily have been charmed to burn the person currently committing adultery?
FeyFaerie chapter 34 . 1/9/2019
Beautiful story. Not as frustrating to read as some marriage law fics I've read, and much more gratifying! I've really enjoyed reading this, and I adore Lance as a character! Also one of the most realistic portrayals of this pairing I've ever seen. :)

I realize it’s been a long time since you last posted this, but I wanted to tell you that this was one of the best pieces of HP FanFiction I have read. I really hope your YA novel has taken flight and you’re now a popular writer! You have so much potential, and I hope you don’t give up on writing. Furthermore, I do hope you continue to write HP FF as well, selfishly of course. :)
Thank you for reposting this, it was a pleasure to read.
GinnyW 31 chapter 34 . 12/27/2018
Just finished reading this fic for the first time in years. (Honestly, I think the last time I read this story was when it was off the archives...id had a copy on my hard drive for a time.) I had forgotten how much I had adored it. There are so many authors out there I wish were still writing SS/HG, it’s the one ship I find myself returning to time and time again, even after lengthy absences. Thank you for reposting this story. I hope you are well and if you ever feel so inclined to write another ss/hg, I would love to read it!

I'm wonder whether the Xiao Tiang Mei is a translated from Chinese? Cause I'm a Chinese and I totally don't know what it is. It seems that Google doesn't have an answer as well.
SomebodyLonely chapter 1 . 10/20/2018
As much as I liked the story, I loved the excerpts from poems/songs that you included at the start of every chapter. They were such brilliant selections and set the tone of the chapter so beautifully. Thank you for an incredible reading experience.
