This is very good. Nicely captures the tone and feel of the early episodes. Their thoughts ring true.
| LouiseKurylo chapter 17 . 3/8/2014
Excellent. The interior thoughts of all the characters ring true. Thank you for writing it.
| LouiseKurylo chapter 2 . 3/8/2014
Very much like Jane's internal thoughts. They ring true, very in-character. TY.
| LouiseKurylo chapter 3 . 3/8/2014

I have really enjoyed reading this story , and now it is all posted, will go back and read it again...It was nice to try to fill in some of the blanks that the s eries has left, and to make the characte r feel more human and real.
I think that you have done a great job o f creating the earlier Jane and Lisbon, and taking us on a journey of finding ou t how their relationship grew and was ce mented in real friendship...another grea t story.
| Pellegrina chapter 16 . 3/26/2013
Who's playing whom here? That was an interesting discussion between those two. Their relationship is coming along nicely...
| Rosepeony chapter 16 . 3/26/2013
Very clever Julie ! :)
| Mossi.b chapter 16 . 3/26/2013
Short but sweet, I think that you were right to stop there...He is a clever man...he basically manipulated Lisbon into NOT asking Minelli to fire him...clever. But Lisbon managed to surprise him too by calling him out on caring for the team...I guess he didn't expect to( I'm not even sure that he realised that he did!). They really are good together, they are two halves of a whole...and that makes them stronger.
Great stuff once again.
| Pellegrina chapter 15 . 3/23/2013
Oh, poor Jane! Always the same: RJ's minions always get away - one way or another, mostly the deadly one...
And I like it that Lisbon tries but fails to read Jane as of yet. It's very interesting to go back to the beginning of their relationship. Nowadays, they know each other so well, and though they've perfected the art of not acknowledging/talking about the truly improtant things (like feelings and such..), they're pretty good reading the other. But it wasn't always like that of course. Nice to look back.

I enjoyed this, I guess this is the first of many times that Jane has come so close to finding out just who Red John is.
You portrayed the shock that Jane felt at being so close to ...dead! very well, it is the first of many near misses too, and I had to smile at the complaints he made...and Cho's comeback.
This is a fine piece of work, and I'm enjoying it a great deal.
| Pellegrina chapter 14 . 3/20/2013
Didn't see that one coming. Nicely done! (though you gave us enough hints, but I'm not nearly as observant as certain consultants...) And a typical Jane-way to get out of a tricky situation (he's cause himself of course), well I guess the situation isn't exactly solved yet (mean cliffy by the way), but with Lisbon close by, what could possibly go wrong... ;-)
| Mossi.b chapter 14 . 3/20/2013
Any way...where was I...Clever how Jane turned the tables on Poulson...I guess this is another of those occasions that Lisbon gets mad about, Jane not telling her stuff, and then getting into trouble!
Really enjoyed this chapter, you can see Jane's mind whirling all the time trying to keep one step ahead in the dance...I wonder how he is going to get out of this one...looking forward to finding out.
| Guest chapter 13 . 3/16/2013
And a very typical Jane note for Lisbon, practically without any helpful information... How'll this end? Doesn't sound too promising for Jane's health...
Liked how you pictured Jane's sudden switch from dispair to energetic. We've seen this change on screen many times and it's always kind of eerie...
