| Guest chapter 9 . 2/3
He should be with Morgana
| wryter501 chapter 23 . 12/29/2013
i like how they're all sitting around in the hospital telling stories - it's a great setting for reveal-type stories, and what else are you going to do in a hospital? it's a good reason to get the talking going!
| wryter501 chapter 22 . 12/29/2013
i like you bringing the story of the enchanted bracelet out here - that was never uncovered in the series, and it bothered me!
and i love gwaine's reaction!
| wryter501 chapter 21 . 12/29/2013
i like your conversations between arthur and merlin - merlin thinks too much, worries too much, and arthur is good for him how he shrugs stuff off... i think we saw a lot of how merlin was good for arthur, but not enough of how arthur was good for merlin, too...
| wryter501 chapter 16 . 12/29/2013
i like that you based the memory recovery on merlin's name... like it's some kind of trigger... :)
| wryter501 chapter 14 . 12/29/2013
i love, love that moment when arthur calls him by name...
| wryter501 chapter 13 . 12/29/2013
i like drawing out the moment of real recognition, but it makes it more significant, some great event that finally breaks the barrier - i'm looking forward to finding out what that is, but i'm afraid it'll include some bodily harm?...
| wryter501 chapter 12 . 12/29/2013
and i love lancelot as their sgt! though it brings back the love triangle?... and percival from lancelot's hometown!
| wryter501 chapter 11 . 12/29/2013
and arthur again maneuvered into telling gwen it won't work... and merlin standing up to uther - how satisfying that must have been to write!
and now that they're in afghanistan, i'm a little worried about where your plot is going, especially with arthur's dream of a wounded merlin and being separated... :) good tension! and i'm glad this fic is done so i won't have to wait and wonder!
| wryter501 chapter 10 . 12/29/2013
suddenly wondering what's going to happen when arthur's dreams start including morgana... post season 3 morgana...
and here's morgana outing arthur and gwen to uther... i kind of expected that at the cabin... she's so blindly emotional... and uther just the same, threatening gwen so arthur will toe the line... i hate it, but i like it too... :)
| wryter501 chapter 9 . 12/29/2013
i like you bringing up the question of merlin's scars before arthur remembers... i've read a few good 'scar-reveal' fics but a mention in passing is probably just a potent to a fan who already knows the scar stories...
| wryter501 chapter 8 . 12/29/2013
i loved the mugging scene, things are beginning to blur for arthur, two lives beginning to meld... and its confusing for him... and still painful for merlin, still waiting...
| wryter501 chapter 7 . 12/29/2013
i love the scene between just arthur and merlin - arthur using some of his old lines his old ideas (i'll help you with breakfast) and then end up chucking something at merlin. perfect!
| wryter501 chapter 6 . 12/29/2013
what i like about this story is that the first impressions are true to the series. morgana and arthur's sibling rivalry, uther and morgana's tension bordering on hate, on her side. gwen and morgana's friendship, though gwen sees her as superior (looks, abilities, birth advantages). even down to gwaine hitting on gwen when he sees her first... and arthur and gwen, the way they act to each other being different from the way they feel... wrong impressions conflicting with instinct... well done.
that hallway underwear dance made me laugh and laugh...
and morgana manipulating a countryside getaway for the two...
| LFB72 chapter 27 . 12/22/2013
Well I enjoyed that very much. I should really be wrapping my kids Christmas presents (I'm in denial), instead I've been catching up with a couple of chapters every evening for the past week.
I like the transition into the modern world and the various different roles. It was good to have all that reflection and the character's personalities reflect the time in which they were born. Such as Arthur being more astute and in touch with his emotions.
I thought their injuries and recovery were dealt with well. So often people write about head injuries with the person being unconscious for a few days then waking up with no apparent physical or psychological deficits. The fact you gave Merlin dysarthia and hemipersis was quite refreshing as was the time taken to adjust. Anatomically speaking speech problems would always occur with right sided weakness but that is just being picky - perhaps warlock's brain's are arranged differently. Likewise you made the point Arthur could lose his leg due to infection or malunion rather than the initial injury. Again I liked that you gave him a cumulated fracture that required an external fixatior.
So in a nutshell great piece of work, good links to the original story, niece background into what happened after Arthur's death and excellent set up for the future.
