|Reviews for The Stalag 13 Raid|
| dee.bowmer chapter 1 . 2/13/2022
two shows I absolutely love, rap patrol and Hogan's Heroes. I always wondered what would happen if those two groups ever met. I wish you could have done a third one or maybe fourth one about those groups cuz I like the way you write.
| Al chapter 1 . 12/19/2020
Wonderful! I love both of these shows, and combining them was a great idea. Nicely accomplished, too! Wish you'd do more.
| tallsunshine12 chapter 1 . 9/23/2020
This is a great story - every character speaks in his own voice. Well-thought plot out, too. Great read!
| Susan M. M chapter 1 . 6/7/2019
I know Rat Patrol better from fanfic than reruns, but I like this story.
| Kenji chapter 1 . 12/5/2017
Ah, beautiful. HH and RP are different but crossovers just kinda happen.
I imagine Hogan sitting in his room after the talk with Dietrich and just drinking a whole bottle of moonshine because.. damn, this could have gone wrong really, really fast. Nobody suspected a thing, he himself certainly didn't and he's just SO happy that Hochstetter's men are lousy spies.
So yeah, I like it! There aren't enough HH/RP crossovers out there.
| Brosmom chapter 1 . 12/4/2016
Didn't think it was possible, but I think I like this one better than the first. Great job.
| ADDAMSFAMILYTREE chapter 1 . 9/11/2016
Dietrich befriending Klink? How interesting. LOL! Now, all he needs is a family link to a certain NYPD 12TH Precinct detective in a crossover between "HOGAN'S HEROES"/ "BARNEY MILLER".
| Dinogeek chapter 1 . 12/2/2015
I damn near lost it at Anheuser and Busch.
| Tiny1217 chapter 1 . 3/21/2015
Great story! Now that I've seen "The Rat Patrol" and read "The Only True Allegiance," (the previous story you wrote) this makes sense. In fact, I love it! I don't want to spoil the story for anyone who is reading the reviews before reading the story, so I'm just going to put it this way: I was pleasantly surprised to find out who the four "Gestapo" men were in the end.:)
Hope you write more crossovers like this, or a sequel.
| Goldleaf83 chapter 1 . 5/31/2013
Oh, this is great! I always wondered how Hogan reacted to Dietrich’s confession, so I was delighted to find this sequel. Hogan’s response seems very typical: careful but compassionate, immediately trying to see how to turn this development to his and the Allies’ advantage, aware of the limitations of his own authority in the matter.
The rescue was pretty funny: I was as alerted as Hogan by the major’s name, and his subordinate’s sealed my suspicion. I didn’t expect their true identities, but it does seem a completely logical assignment for them at this point in the war. Dietrich’s character is very sympathetic and makes me curious about his relationship with the other characters in his original series. I hadn’t known about Canaris, so I looked him up: he’s a fascinating figure and a perfect choice for your story. As usual, you hang your story on really interesting historical fact. A great conclusion for this tale!

Anheuser and Busch...quite a mix:-)
Threads within threads...and a good read, too. I particularly liked the interaction between Dietrich and Hogan. Very realistic; the rest of the story was quite enjoyable.
Congrats on your PBA nominations, by the way; well deserved!
| Jinzle chapter 1 . 3/2/2013
Bahahahahaah! I loved it especially the beer joke and having Dietrich and Eric Braenden from the same place. And to have the Rats come to the rescue...priceless.
| praeceptrix chapter 1 . 3/1/2013
Yay! A sequel to one of my favorite stories! Thank you for writing this. You do a wonderful job of portraying all of the characters. I enjoy your subtle insights into their personalities. I love the light-hearted & serious nods to The Rat Patrol, especially Dietrich's request that Hogan have his best sniper on ambush duty.
It's a pity that Dietrich couldn't stick around. I think I'd have enjoyed reading about him & Kinch becoming friends (and fleecing Newkirk at bridge). Still, I'm glad you had Troy & the gang rescue him. Perhaps you'd consider another sequel? The adventures of Dietrich, Troy, Hitch, Pettigrew, & your namesake, as they go undercover in Germany?
| FloatingPizza chapter 1 . 3/1/2013
Ah, what a wonderful story! I love how you incorporated the Rats, and all those little tidbits from RP- the Operation Diamond snafu, the beer with a pinch of salt, etcetera. And I really feel that you got Dietrich's character down pretty great here, from his manner of speech to his hands-behind-the-back habit, and Schultz and Hogan (along with all the other supporting characters, for that matter) were great too. I also love that line dealing with Klink-
"[He] became conscious of a very familiar feeling, one that he experienced all too often while in the presence of the American colonel. A feeling that events had swept him up and tossed him aside, leaving him absolutely confused as to what had just happened."
So, so, SO very true! That just sums up Klink's entire wartime experience in two sentences! Anyway, love the story, it's fantastic in terms of HH's and RP. Definetly going on the PBA nomination sheet next year!
| SeenaC chapter 1 . 3/1/2013
Your stories are always such a delight and this one is no exception!
I really love all the little details you put in that bring the story to life, like Hogan's gesture of wrapping his arms around himself when he's tense, or thinking hard.
Also loved the terribly hard, but realistic touch of planning for the worst with the sniper. It really drives home what the men were facing on a day-to-day basis.
But, humor, joy, and camaraderie are also part of reality as well, and you excel at bringing in those. I was laughing over the Gestapo officers' names.
So, once again, thank you for sharing your gift with the world!
