Wow, this was a sad and, sort of, rushed chapter. I really did not expect things to hit the fan so quickly. It's nice to see Harry is on his way to get some real combat help though. I hope you don't 'over do' the Japanese fighting styles in this fic. It's very popular in today's entertainment (cartoons, video games, some movies etc.) for Japenese martial arts (especially the Katana) to be the end-all-be-all greatest method of combat in the history of man-kind.

I hope we don't suddenly see Harry completely forego Magic because he gets a Katana that can cleave cars in half, slice through impenetrable wards, rebound spells, etc. etc. otherwise this story stops being about Harry Potter and starts being 'look how awesome Japan is'.

It will be interesting to see how you use Japan's take on magic. I know that they focus more on wards and pre-prepared talismans and protections. At least if you go for more of a historical approach. If you decide to delve into a little more fantastical, they could use chants, hand motions etc. to kind of mimic the 'Ki' abilities commonly seen in most Japanimations. As long as it's not 'obviously' far more powerful than Wand magic, I don't think I'd care too much, but it would be nice to see the comparative strengths and weaknesses of each method of magic.

I would imagine it would boil down to Japanese casting is less reliant on outside stimuli (wands), but might have reduced or less focused effects. Japanese magic could be great at launching things like large scale fire attacks, or erecting wide defensive shields, but they may not have the same power as a personal wand shield or a wand's smaller area fire attacks (like Incendio).

I hope with the death of Nick and Perenelle, Harry finds another longterm mentor/parent (hint Sirius hint). While mature for his years, Harry still needs guidance and advice from someone whom has simply lived and experienced more.

Anyway, I am looking forward to more of this story as it comes out.

I appreciate your take on how this story could go. I am saddened by this past chapter, but really, I should have expected that given its title.
I look forward to your next update, and I am curious to see what role you have Sirius play in this. Is he sane, does he get the help he needs, will he and Harry ever have a godfather/godson connection?

I like your story I always thought they would be good for Harry.
I read on my Nook most of the time and can't review for some reason the codes don't work for me. I just wanted to tell you that so you wont think I'm not reading it. How can I talk to Fanfiction and ask them to re do the Nook as far as getting rid of the code and giving us back the ability to go to any ch we want It was so nice to just hit review and bingo I reviewed ten different stories a day I was laid up so I read all the time. You and one other arthor are the only ones I have R. in a long time. and I never PM any more because of the codes, Just don't work for me. I have tried over 12 time an one or more stories a night each to review. nodda nothing NOT one would work I hope they aren't paying by the review. Good luck in all you do...

You needed more fight out of Dumby! But, no matter, no matter. I'm sure we'll hear for him again. My two questions to contemplate on may be quite related, or totally insignificant. A: Where did Lisa's family disappear too and why? Are the wizards? Are they Dumby's agents, or, in this case, is a cigar simply a cigar? B: what of Ginny? Will she return to the plot, or be dicarded out of hand? Inquiring minds want to know, but for now, let us indeed learn the wizarding bashido code! All will be explained on how peter located the Flamels? I think Dumbledore knew where Peter was an let slip where Harry was so that Dumbledore's plan would come to come to be. Now the only way to track Harry would be to track his blood Of which only Dumbledore and Voldemort have. But as you said in a previous chapter the instruments on Harry that Dumbledore has only show his health. (I think) Anyway. I think that even if that was the case the Flamels would have already figured a way to counter it against Dumbledore. Awaiting more.

I love it! Dumbledore got just what he deserved. He likes leaving everyone in the dark and giving them information that is incomplete or lacking. The way Harry left is poetic justice in my books. Keep up the good work!
