I have to admit I was fearful about how this story was going, but I gotta say it's easily one of my favorites! It was so well written between the characters personalities to adding in this other character, to the great writing of times before the Hobbit that it was as if I was reading a great novel. It was wonderful to read how Thorin grew to love her and how she loved him, and then how things changed and she slowly started to love shy Bard and became what she always wanted. It had a wonderful yet sad ending that left things closed and not wide open for us to keep dwelling on. Thank you for that, and for your wonderful story. So glad I found it

I love your stories. Would you ever write another Bard/Oc and maybe a Dracula/Oc from NBC's Dracula the series?

I found your story two days ago and read it over the weekend.
Its just stunning! I couldnt get away from my computer. I wanted to read another chapter and another and another til 2 a.m.!
The idea of Thorin finding a girl he really loves but not being able to tell her...and then he leaves...and comes back! And i though: yes, now theyll stay together! But no...he leaves again. And she decides to follow him...to Erebor because she believes in his strengh to reclaim the mountain...just so beautyful!
And then she finds Bard...
The last chapters were so sad and so amazing. Hell, i cried! And thats really not like me.
So thank you very much for this wonderful journey. It was really emotional. I love it!
P.S.: Sorry for my English, im from Germany ;)

wow what an emotional ride. Loved it all but got a little confused on chapter 31 but I think it was just me. Thank you for writing a story involving Bard as there isnt many long stories atm. :)
| Cathy chapter 34 . 1/3/2014
This was so realistic and so bittersweet.I would have wanted a happy the story wouldn 't have been so .Also,I couldn't help but notice, that the titles of the chapters make a beautiful (if not a strange) poem.
| Ardnamurchan chapter 34 . 8/24/2013
Really moving story. Sad and so true.
And so real ! we could totally understand and recognized all the characters for what they are, and what they feel.
The end is so sad but realistic.
I guess the lesson is that she was his gold after all, and without her, he became sick and he died of it.

Wish I could explain how much I thoroughly enjoyed this story. But I've never been very good with words.
Perfect ending to a beautiful, bittersweet story. If you're not proud of this one, you should be...
You have gained a faithful reader.
