If a kid's been adopted by someone of a different culture and a "family friend" just so happen to see him. I don't see why it would be ok to take him away, insist on snatching him from his home to try to assimilate him with "his own kind". The adopted family would either give their kid consent to go explore if he was ready to seek his background, but I can't see them allowing basically a stranger (no matter how powerful) to take him away when he's not ready. Especially with a character like Gandolf who'd push but not so directly unless he had an urgency to do so. For having raised the hobbit as their own since he was '2', the family bond seems lacking. For him to be a teen (a baby in dwarves eyes) I can't see any parents letting him experience potentual culturual backlash when the kid is reluctant to do so.

I thought that the orcs and goblins counted as one and the eagles were the fifth army.

You had me SOBBING for Filli and Ori and I aalmost couln't bring myself to continue. I still have tears in my eyes but they have shifted to happy even if they haven't stopped. My heart was so... in pieces but I loved the idea of the Arkenstone being pure magic. So happy and am defiantly going over to read that sequel. 10/10

Eeee!(I pitched squealing) I love it! I think that this is adorable! Makes me wonder, though, how Bilbo is going to react to being told he was adopted, or at least growing up swifter than his dwarfish family members. Keep it up and Happy Story Weaving!

I really like this story concept. Thorin raising Bilbo as his son, instead of them being strangers until the quest to take back Erebor. I liked seeing how Bilbo's gentle soul mixed with the tough brashness of being raised a Dwarf. It was nice to see Thorin vulnerable like that, and Bilbo with two big brothers like Fili and Kili. I was dubious when I found out that you were tying in the movies/book, because it would be such a long repeat, but you added your own. This was really great and I can't wait to read this sequel your on about! :) :)
