I liked this. Really excellent fleshing out of that truly painful scene. You pulled on the "Daryl 'just found Merle' idea and lost him too soon before they worked stuff out. Cruel twist of fate.
I love the line "The younger brother, the only Dixon left in this joke of a world..." Poetry really.
I also love your use of the Kate Bush song lines at the beginning. Perfect. Siarh suggested I check you out and am glad I did :) You have a full, descriptive, smooth, narrative writing style. I appreciate the kind of work you do with words. I try to write in a similar way so reading your stuff is a treat. I'll be reading more.

Hey - sorry this took me so long to review - thank you for the shout out! I'm always happy to review your stories! You are an amazing writer and I love the way you put things into words, just amazing!
The story may be short but my God woman, it certainly caught every emotion running through Daryl's broken mind at that moment seeing Merle as a walking eating another person. The sadness, the anger, the rage, the confusion. The hesitation to kill his own brother but knowing that he had to and then in turn he was going to kill the Governor for turning his brother. So effing powerful. I bawled during that scene, I bawled when I read this. It had that same impact. Just reading your interpretation of what Daryl was feeling was incredibly accurate and gave me chills.
Thanks for posting this and thank you for the sneak peek! Most awesome and as always I look forward to anything you put out and I'm always here for you! Love you so much!

just a few days ago, merle died in the Walking Dead, and the worst part is, he died a hero, trying to kill the Governer for his brother and his brother's new family, they had no right ending his life.
the one time he was the good guy for someone other than himself and his brother, he dies.
Rest in Peace you hillbilly we called Merle, and gloat down to your father in hell, because you made it to heaven, and it just got prettier

Wow, your OS is very strong. Every thought of Daryl sounds very right, very Daryl-like. It is an awesome tribute to Merle. I already miss him aaaaargh.
Moreover, your writing is very clear and fluid !
Thank you, one of the best stories I read about them two, I totally match with your point of view !

I cant even! I only JUST got over Merle dying and then I re-read this! You are a-maz-ing! Honest to God. I don't know anyone that could have written this scene better. You've captured the fear, the pain, the torment better than anyone ever could have and you should be so proud. This is sensational writing. Love it. Can't wait to see what you do next. Xxx
