That made my heart hurt. I wish john hadn't died, but I'm glad Sherlock found another person.

I thought this deserved a review, so here it is.
I really liked how you slowly brought us through John's death. Sherlock was really upset, but you didn't go melodramatic over it. I liked the softer reactions you gave him, I personally thought it made his pain a bit more in character. That being said it just about broke my heart when I figured out that Sherlock very calmly walked back into a burning building. T_T
However, my favorite part of the story had to be the ending. Miss Smith is not John, could never *be* John, and will never replace John. But it looks as though she could be the start of something new for Sherlock . Although she was a *tad* on the cliche "warrior princess" side, I thought she and Sherlock hit it off very well. (pun intended)
You're last line was perfect as well. Definately had alot of power.
All in all, an enjoyable read, giving John his love and send-off but not reducing Sherlock to a weepy mess either. Wonderful job! Thank you for posting.
