| Guest chapter 3 . 12/13/2018 That is not how sociopathy works. First off, as far as we can tell, sociopathy cannot be diagnosed via brain scan. Second, you cannot diagnose someone below the age of eighteen as a sociopath. The first is because there is nothing special about brain activity or structure in sociopaths(the actual disorder is called anti-social personality disorder) . And the second is because in children and teenagers the frontal cortex is not fully developed. Thus, all children show signs of sociopathy(a lack of long term consequence analysis, social que and empathy issues, manipulative behavior, etc.). Two final issues with your presentation of sociopathy, sociopaths feel a lot more than just anger, and brain activity is never that clean cut. Outside of that, I think the base idea for the story is interesting. |
