Powerful, honest, and so bittersweet. I can absolutely feel the mood of this story. Lovely.

I love this story - so very bittersweet! Lovely!

Very sweet and tender as well as true to the characters. For all his blustering, Captain Gregg would have been a good father. He was a good surrogate father to Jonathan and Candy.

This was just so lovely. Unfortunately for this pairing, it is a very real problem and the one dream that they cannot have. And yet instead of creating an angst-filled story, you have chosen to instead to focus on the strength and endurance of their love and prove to all that it is not the physical aspect of a relationship that sparks true passion in a romance but the wealth of emotion between two people in love which you have conveyed so exquisitely. Their emotions were real and true and the reasoning as well as the moment for actual touch was just perfect. :)

"saw his shoulders sag in defeat. "It is apparent that the service the cradle can provide to the Gregg line has ended."...
This story is a moving portrayal of a vibrant man who has just begun to understand the enormity of what his death means...That is, to be the last one, to carry his family name (Claymore notwithstanding! :) )
What makes this so moving is because it's written, not with oppressive drama or overt sweetness , but with a tenderness that shows itself right til the end when CM and DG can unexpectedly exchange a comforting hold on one another...A really lovely story...Thank you
