I have to be honest...I'm replying to this chapter in particular, even though I've read the three currently available because this one gets me right in the feels. As a stay-at-home dad as I complete some higher education...I wish I was a lot more like Annie, but fear I'm far closer to Mrs. Edison. This story is emotionally evocative enough that I've started trying to keep it as a mental touchstone when I find my kids driving me nuts as I try to finish a project, and then I try to see if I can just stay up a little later to finish it, and spend the time with them "now."

You have a talent for conveying situations that could come across as contrived and corny in an excellent way.

This story hits home for me because of the parts about Jeff and Annie's past because I spent a lot of time growing up like they did- and now I'm crying because I always said if I had kids they would not be raised like I was. So this story makes me feel so much better. Also makes me jealous of Zack and Hazel so good job! I enjoy this series :)

I love stories like this, I hope you plan to write more.
