| Guest chapter 1 . 10/7/2013
this was absolutely brilliant...
I loved how you gave b&b time at the end to have a real meaningful conversation.
i've always loved how b/w the two of them they can share the details 'whether it be vague or very descriptive', of the horrors they've both faced in their respective childhoods, with or without words are very empathetic towards each other.
It makes them both uniquely able to not only stomach some of the horrors they see on a daily basis, in the crimes they help un-cover, but also allows each of them, separately & together to find strength in their common, horrid bonds that tie them.
What i've never liked on the show, how cold cam could be towards brennan, when a abused foster child/or/street kid case, came up, she had this attitude about her, she seemed to me to act in a way that she both assumed to know & at the same time dismiss'g what brennan was feeling/or being effected, at how blase cam was, at times i thought brennan could give insights to a case in that respect, it always irked me, cam knows the kind of horrors seeley went thru & she empathizes & is respectful towards him, but is totally the opposite with brennan.

How terrible for the young girl, willing to do what she could so her brother would have a roof over his head. Loved the Booth and Brennan chat at the end of your story too.

Well, hell. This is from your NOTES file and it is still great?! Darn it! The way that Booth kind of sidles up to her after the case is over, the way he doesn't want her to tell him their name so he doesn't hunt them down, the way he trusts her in the interrogation room were all wonderful. I love how you wrote Brennan too, the way she knew to preserve evidence even as a traumatized teen. But my favorite part was him requesting that she hold his hand, and her doing it. Sweet but not maudlin. I really liked it. 3sq.

I loved this. It seems we get a lot of Booth backstory recently, it's nice to look into the hidden parts of Brennan's life. I like the friendship here too; knowing when to back away and when to show up with some wine.
Thanks for posting!

Awesome I Loved it
| Guest chapter 1 . 4/17/2013
I love that he can't know the name of the foster family who abused her. I love that he doesn't FORCE her to talk about anything. That he's okay with her having her stories that she can't yet share and it's not all, talk talk talk to me about everything, bare your soul, and have me give you nothing in return.
Remember when Bones used to be all about offering a piece of yourself and equality and true partnership? Fuck this revolution.
I also love the depth of Brennan's empathy. How sharing with another person, one she doesn't personally know, is not the easy thing, but it's the thing she will do time and time again if she thinks that it will comfort them. Just... Fuck.
All the love. All the times.
MORE NOTES FIC.

OMG - this is a profound chapter, well told. The dynamics of their relationship are so incredibly rendered, because in so many ways they are subtle. Very well done.

Hey! Welcome back. I really loved this. I've been hoping that the show would touch on Brennan's past as a foster kid and this felt like an answer to my prayers, with the only difference being that in my head B&B are already in a relationship and they have Christine.
The show seems to downplay Brennan's humanity these days in favour of making her more worthy of Booth's lessons in life, I think. The early seasons' Brennan who connected with the foster children and paid for the funeral of an immigrant is nowhere to be seen these days. So thank you for this.
Thank you for sharing. :)

Good story. I felt sad for Brennan and Booth. Their childhood was just rotten.
