![]() ![]() (7) Particularly if you like clever footnotes in the style which these struggle to emulate. Footnotes don't work in a scrolling format. The idea of footnotes is that it's additional information you can quickly glance at elsewhere, generally at the bottom of the page, but scrolling prevents that. It's a great thing when used properly (see: Discworld), but a waste of everyone's time when done poorly (as in, every time it's used to add 'foot'notes to the bottom of multiple pages worth of text). A pet peeve, I'll admit. |
