The truth, leaving his throat at last, feels like stepping from a smoke-filled nightclub into the cool moist air of a pine forest at dawn. Pure oxygen and calm. - truth does have a way of sweeping away the staleness. Nice analogy.

I do not know if this will post or not...but I wanted to say how much I look forward to updates on this story. I am thoroughly enjoying it...but I hope it has a happy ending coming...

I really liked their exchange in this chapter. It was almost as if I breathed a sigh of relief on John's behalf to have his concerns confirmed that something was amiss with all of this. It was all tentative but powerful.

Great chapter once again. Intelligent of Sherlock to be cautions when talking to John...

I adore your writing style! Lovely descriptions of both John and Sherlock; everyone is very much in character. I also love how you craft these little trains of thought, like what Sherlock said about making promises, and connect them to the main story line. That kind of mirroring effect is quite beautiful.
