| Zealot of Reading chapter 9 . 3/13
Well... honestly, this feels like a copout. And railroading.
After the last four chapters, where the plot continued diverging from canon more and more... The differences at the end of the year are negligable. Basically, Nothing Changed.
I suppose, after being spoiled by the previous 8 chapters I'm feeling disappointed.
While I'm still interested in seeing how this story will develop, I can't help but think that it will fall far short of what it could have been.
| Amortal chapter 9 . 3/9
This being my first review for this story, I’ll say this much. I never really was much of a Hermione fan with her being a know it all, but placing her within Slytherin and forcing her to adjust to the harsh climate change to what she is used to made for a rather compelling story. The interaction with Tom had me hoping she would adjust and develop a much more Slytherin personality sooner, but the last two chapters seemed to revert her into a good natured person, rather than a mean spirited individual like when she tried to maim Draco. Then again the slow change to her character is rather nice and well done above all compared to most dark stories that develop the descent rather quickly.
Now the review for this chapter after so much rambling on my part. Well for a start the chapter was amusing mostly with how things proceeded in the chamber, Tom however was rather straight forward with his approach in trying to get her to see things his way, and I honestly don't see it working because no one in their right mind would consider killing a solution to this particular problem without being twisted in some sense. He seemed smarter than that in my opinion even if he is a fragment of a whole person and the fact that he portrayed a sensible kind of guy while confined in the diary means he must have some reasonable judgment to know how to approach someone with a better pitch then what was suddenly given and twist them slowly towards the ‘Greater Good’ of things. That or simply lie. I don’t know. It seemed rushed in a way with how you went about it to me. The change in personality from her ‘friend’ Tom to I was Voldemort and well let’s kill people while I play the villain and you play the role of the hero made the impact rather large.
That was probably the only negative to me in this chapter, with that being said the way you twisted the history of Voldemort and the way he went about killing the purebloods was ingenious.
Now Lockhart for some odd reason I really thoroughly liked in this story because you made him more charismatic then he ever was, and the cunning he portrayed to cover his short comings was amazing. I was kind of sad to see him go in such a way, but like all good things there is an end.
The next chapter is going to be rather interesting I imagine with how things played out in the chamber, which makes me wonder if she is intelligent enough to realise that she is the only one with any knowledge of what really happened down there. It would be easy to cover up the murder of a famous individual that will have a large impact on her life. It’s the smart thing I would say, but that’s enough from me. Update soon because I look forward to next chapter.

Makes so much sense for Hermione to be placed in Slytherin with the reasons you mentioned, great premise!

Wow, that was awesome to read! So many twists and turns and I can't help wanting to root for the 'bad' characters like Tom and Lockhart

wow very well written series. The characters are quite believable and really good in general. Very well done thank you. Enjoy this story a lot. Please continue. I know you have Nevil as Hermione's main love interest but would really like it to be Harry. Very well done thank you. Looking forward to the next chapter.

I finally got around to reading this chapter and OMIGOD. THAT ENDING WAS SO -
I did not expect that. I really can't wait to see the consequences of this...
Also, I'm intrigued with Tom's angle. Is he telling the truth or not? Hmm, very interesting!

Great Story! Lots of suspense, red herrings, and a chamber of secrets fight that is different and similar to canon at the same time. Well done!
| skywiseskychan chapter 9 . 2/25
This is an absolutely wonderful chapter of a great story.
I absolutely love the idea of Voldemort you are presenting or revealing here. It makes a lot more sense than the one in the books. Of course still evil and crazy, but much more fun at it. The levels of confusion this will have on the future are grand. So are the ripples. Ripples of what Hermione now knows are Tom's actual goals. Ripples about her killing a teacher and what Harry and or Nevil may remember. Ripples about the revelation of Nevil's attraction to her and more. It's just grand!
