I’m only on chapter 11, but I just wanted to say I love how you didn’t depict danzo as just another maniac villain. At least for now. I’ve read HUNDREDS of fics and all of them portray him as cartoonishly as the anime, even my favourite fics. I love the turn on Tsunade, the only other fic that had done this was the abandoned (but amazing) Orochimaru fic on space battles. Lots of AU going on with Konoha’s training system - a little strange at first but I also like that it’s more realistic (3-4 years of staying in a rank and Sakura realising that advancing in less than 1 is just not done).

And of course this goes without saying; excellent grammar and I love that there’s not much edginess here. You said you’re not purposely diving into grim dark which is great, because those stories are just edgy. I also enjoy the fact that you don’t treat your readers as idiots by over explaining or with over-expositions, but still explain the basics in short and sweet paragraphs. I wish more fanfic authors would learn to tell stories in an exciting way like you. Definitely one of my top 10 fics.

I like the concept and the cannon changes but I don’t get how quickly Naruto talks with people. Did he know kurenai before? It doesn’t seem like it since he couldn’t recognize the Yuhi compound or whatever. So why was she randomly feeding him and why was Asuma telling him his life story. Things seem to be progressing too quickly but I’ll stick around.

I really love the story, but for Sakura to be trained by Jiraiya may be the greatest turn off I ever read. For him to teach her the move that was passed only through mentorship and practically family.
