So it's been seven years since this updated and I have no idea if anyone will even see this, but... hi? Hi, it's been almost a decade since I first read this fic and it still lives rent free in my head. I think about Soul and Maka fighting about a wall, leaving post-it notes, and sneaking out of their homes to meet in the middle of night. I think about the art created in words in this story, and how badly I wish I was better at painting so I could attempt to bring that to life.

And if you need further proof, I found a song last year that immediately reminded me of The Stand: Pavement by SayWeCanFly. The chorus hits me every time.
Make my body your canvas
I’ve got love and you can have it
Tag my body with your spraypaint
I've got love, I'll be your pavement

As soon as I hear that, I am brought back to this fic. I imagine Maka taking her markers to Soul's skin, leaving her patterns all over him. I imagine Soul guiding Maka in using his spray cans so their fingers carry the same stain at the end of the night. And I have no choice but to use The Stand in my musical daydreams because I still haven't read a story that feels like this.

Call me pathetic, but I am still obsessed with this fic.

i favorited this story on june 6, 2014 and i keep coming back to it 3 years later. hands down one of the BEST soul eater fics ive read. i love the original concept and how you grasp wes&soul's relationship along with how you address soul's mental health. amazing story.
