This was so sweat! This is just the kind of thing I was looking for!
| Jupiter chapter 1 . 10/3/2010
I've been scouring for months to find a story like this.
"My wrist is fine." His clipped response came too fast. Or too slow. The way his words echoed tauntingly in his own ears prevented him from being able to tell which.
That was beautiful.
Ken could only wonder over the foreign gentleness with which Matt was speaking to him, the quiet seriousness. Only Daisuke had ever talked to him like that. And Osamu.
Seriously, this is all so intelligently written, like Ken himself. This is, perhaps, the best thing I've read on this site in a long time.
It was his masochistic urge to simply watch which had really sidelined him, however.
I could quote this all day.
Your portrayal of Ken was so accurate and well done, that you could tell Ken had only recently abandoned his guise as the Kaiser. I've read countless stories about Ken and the problem with all of them is that they can't keep him in character. He's too difficult, too complex, too damaged and jaded and, somehow, beautiful. But you did it...you really did it! I honestly saw Matt holding Ken's hand in my head. The same Matt and Ken you see in the series, not the gay ones you read about on this site. And the notion that Ken would love Matt, and hate it at the same time...the idea that he would see himself in T.K. and envy him for it...the fact, therefore, that Ken subconsciously realizes that the relationship between Matt and T.K. is what he lost in his own life, is so miraculous. It's a three-way relationship I doubt even the creators of Digimon would have noticed and been able to portray as deeply as you have. And that's only the substance of your story.
Your style was also amazing. The way you waited to tell the whole story piece by piece really kept me reading. It seemed fitting to the characters. How the setting seemed to echo both of the boys habits and mindsets...it was all quite inspiring. This is how best-selling novels are written.
Ken Ichijouji is my favourite character of any saga because he's just so deep and touching. And this story makes me proud to be an Ichijouji fan! Thank you :)

| EternalMink chapter 1 . 12/7/2008
It's a fact that i actually cried at this. Maybe it's just because I'm just getting my monthly and am a hormonal wreck right now but this was so sweet!
| heavenshadow chapter 1 . 4/12/2004
I must say this is one of the best stories that I've read, usually I'm fairly nit-picky, but this was an abrupt yet wonderful change of pace to the stories you generally see. Even if this is just a friendship/support fic instead of yaoi it still is one of my favorites and is going on my favorites right now! I hope to see more of your work, especially those concerning these two soon!

Hmm. I like this fic. :)
It's been a while since I read Digimon. It's cool.

You should write more!
| Klayter McCabe chapter 1 . 7/13/2003
Saa. I liked it. It was kind of verbose, at first, and hard to get into, but worth it in the end. I enjoyed the sweet, rather genuine emotions that Ken and Matt's interaction held, and found this to be a welcome change from most of the much shallower Digimon fics.
| Ice'is Blue chapter 1 . 4/4/2003
Excellently written! I love the way you blended past and present. Ken's feelings about Matt and TK's relationship were very believable. A touching story.
| Leah Labadie chapter 1 . 2/24/2003
I relly enjoyed your story and would like to see some another story about Matt and Ken and the relasionship that develops between them, or ken and T.K. or even some perspectives from other digidestined after they witness the event you create in this story. Perhaps you could focus on how their POV on ken and how tey think of him. I really think this is a idea that could be expanded upon, and hope you will consider continuing htis story line.

| Angelica chapter 1 . 1/3/2003
Sniff...I don't like digimon, but damn. You are a good writer.
