I can definitely understand your urge to write this. His isolation and desperate loneliness absolutely screams with the question, what did Jack do to keep himself sane for 300 years? I do like how you made his cutting just part of his routine. It felt very matter of fact and that made it all the worse-it stood out even more for it. And yeah, I can definitely see Jack wishing for death because it had to feel like a form of purgatory, his second life.
