|Reviews for Harbinger of Light: The Shattering|
| Guest chapter 5 . 8/31
| UltimaJakester chapter 4 . 6/23/2014
Let's go in order, I guess.
While I hate Sephy with a passion, I have to say Nate you nailed him. You caught everything in one scene that shows how much of a prick he can be. Kudos to that, but I hate him still.
That Doctor cameo... :)
Okay, I have something here. That elf said Sora would be the one to open the door. And then Sora recognized that voice. Obviously it's the same voice that says out the words in KH1 in the tutorial of the game. So, either it was an elf the entire time (no) or this elf is some higher being of Kingdom Hearts itself (much more likely). Maybe this elf was Anuwëy him/her/itself? Whatever Anuwëy is.
I'ltorien. Yeah, definitely Miss Chere. King on the other hand, I have no idea. And that irks me. Good I'ltorien segment.
I think I'll go to chapter 4 of Norm because I don't want to stop halfway through an arc with chapter 5 of this story.
| UltimaJakester chapter 3 . 6/22/2014
Oh boy ...
Mystery girl had better be Terra Branford. And if it is, then I will fly to Portugal, hug you until you're as purple as the outline of Terra's Esper Pixilated Outline, and then fly back and do the same to Nathan. The small bit of back story that was revealed on "One" is strikingly similar to FFVI. So, it has to be Terra. If it's not ... there will be hell to pay.
Also, those "two" that didn't call her One. Celes and Locke. Shot in the dark, I know.
The new clothes are nice, and unlike most people, I will envision them with their new clothing. I actually take the time to take things like that seriously.
Hmm, Merideth is interesting, I guess.
But not nearly as interesting as Alexia. Had a very Stephen King vibe to it. Which, I definitely could tell "Nathan King" (he told me your nickname for him) came out here. Do I think it is a bad thing? Not at all. If people are going to be so nitpicky about the tone of something like the invisible ... they need to take into the fact that with a near death scene comes some darker, more serious writing.
Anyway, good chapter.
| UltimaJakester chapter 2 . 6/22/2014
Hmm ... I'm gonna review until chapter five on here and then switch to Norm and then go back ... etc.
Yeah, I have no predictions on the villains except Sephy (why!? for god's sake, why!?) and Kefka. There is no way that the first brother isn't Kefka.
Nice Blitzball match. And nice romance between Sora and Kairi BEFORE the festivities. Back at the house. The wine was too much, Nate. And nice fight scene with Riku and Sora.
The mystery girl still evades me, but Jecht did not for obvious reason.
Good job, keep it up ... well, you already kept it up, ah never mind. Good job boys.
| UltimaJakester chapter 1 . 6/21/2014
Okay, babes, here we a-go.
Nate has not told me a single damn thing about this story except that is co-written with his Portuguese friend and that it is amazing and blah, blah, blah. I shall be the judge of this.
So, first off, not a bad first chapter. At all. It was actually thought out really well for an opening chapter. Kind of sad to hear that Terra, Aqua and Ven (mainly Aqua, fuck Terra) won't me in this story. :(
It did a great job of setting things up, relaxing from the ass-kicking that was Xemnas. You think that with the raw power to cut skyscrapers in half without breaking a sweat, they could cut him down, but noooooooo, plot takes over.
So, we see that there is indeed some trouble already for our heroes. Pretty quick, too.
I'ltorien ... what in the actual fuck? NATHAN! I thought this place died in freshman year!? Did you really dig this out! For god's sake, this makes me more excited than everything! Is Argo gonna be there? What about Tor and Aven? Issyra, Kreala, Doavar?! Oh shit, the possibilities.
But who is the mystery girl? Some new character? Oh well, need to read more to find out.
All in all, a good chapter. The thing is, I don't get to predict anything because there was nothing her. Let me see a bit more and then the predictions fly.
Until next time, Jake signing off!

Andre Womack here. Will be posting reviews with my account from now on.
She didn't die.
I mean, dammit.
It's unjust. For Alexia, I mean.
She didn't DO IT.
But honestly, the carnage in this chapter. The unbridled DESPAIR seeping from every word.
KEFKA IS SUCH A BOSS.
His machinations are so simple, yet he pulls them off with the timing of a GOD.
That setup was GLORIOUS.
Poor Riku... Hehe.
My man must be feeling HELLA TIGHT.
And the former nobodies...
It must be awkward, no?
Both so happy and stuff...
But only because Sora and Kairi are... Severed.
Kinda pyhrric, no?
All I know is Wesker getting damaged albeit intentionally, was a welcome change.
He wasn't charging around, whooping everyone's ass, then leaving the scene with a sh*t-eating grin.
He at least got his jaw temporarily messed-up.
I like it.
I like it plent.
*does the Nay-Nay*

OHHH MAH GUOHD
And that Muzét FIGHT
WEAVE GAME 2 STRONG
... Sephiroth physically assaulted Cloud.
Like, with his limbs. And he seems to have Omnislashed him as well.
This is liked.
Best move, Ganondorf's diving Warlock Kick.
That was BOSS AF
HOW DOES EVERY CROSSOVER CHARACTER GET SO MUCH DESERVED FANSERVICE
WHAT IS THIS
*man cry begins anew*
You guys sacrifice so much for us...
Oh, and don't get me STARTED on the Heartless side-fights.
That sense of escalation.
Heartless, still formidable, but getting their asses handed to 'em nonetheless!
Okay, okay. Hades.
Does he go all out at ANY point in this book?
Maleficent engaging in physical combat.
I just saw the 2014 movie of the same name.
Played by Angelina Jolie.
I hereby approve Maleficent as a KH-infused Magi-Brawler.
In all seriousness.
After witnessing Heath Ledger's Swan Song as the Joker in The Dark Knight,
I have taken his unique take on the character to heart.
His fight with Merideth...
You nailed it, damn you...
*fights back tacos*

Yay for the plottwist,
Nice to know what happened to Sora and Kairi. I actually waited for the moment the plot of the heroes and the plot of I'ltorien will mend. Well, I have not much to say besides, I'm really looking forward to book two.

Wow, so I finally catch up, and here's the end, haha! Total cliche...
Even though I just caught up, I'm proud to have been a small part in your experience, and I'm glad I was able to meet you through this story, Nate! Both of you have done a very good job. Seriously, well done.
Well, in the meantime of waiting for Book 2, I guess I'll be trying to finish my own story! Till then, Nate, Andre, I'll see you around the site!
| tennisdesi91 chapter 25 . 5/1/2014
well. That went well. I look forward to the next book. You have done an amazing job with this story, and this was a perfect epilogue. Great job!
| tennisdesi91 chapter 24 . 5/1/2014
well ... damn. That was ridiculously intense ... poor Alexia/Riku ...
Great job with the fight scenes. I really liked how they were written!
| LordOfDaemon chapter 25 . 5/1/2014
Tina Branford? So we FINALLY know Christina's last name? Sora and Kairi finally officially meet her as well. Congratulations on finishing the first book, and I look forward to reading all of the others!
Avid reader of most literary works,
| Lucenthia chapter 25 . 5/1/2014
Well, I'm looking really forward to what's going to be happening in the next book. I'ltorien, the villains, just everything.
And what the heck happened in the 5 days since Tina was riding Tiki?
Well, anyways, that was another cool chapter.
| Wood Dog chapter 25 . 5/1/2014
Aaaand there goes the first book. I'd say "roll the credits" but then I remembered that the one month break is probably less than my regular pauses in-between chapters. I can't believe it's already been almost a year since HoL first appeared, it certainly felt like half of that (or maybe my perception of Time is just weird).
Anyway, you all know I'm looking forward to the highly anticipated and much hyped book two, so here's to whatever comes next!
