| Sarah7293 chapter 1 . 5/11/2014
Your writing is beautiful :') I'm glad I'm not alone in feeling the need for galex every now and then, and your stories are so wonderfully written! I didn't see the twist coming here, and I'm not ashamed to say it made me quite emotional!
Please keep writing. Anything!

I'm just going through most of your fics now - I apologise. This is beautiful and heartbreaking and a million other things that would be far too long to list. I just adore your writing, I hope my A2A fics are as good as this when I finally get round to posting them!
| Good Friday chapter 1 . 6/13/2013
This is beautifully written, with a few carefully-placed hints that all is not as it seems. What a bleak conclusion though - poor Alex.
| Katie Duggan's Niece chapter 1 . 6/8/2013
I was so enjoying the romance and passion of that scene in Alex's flat (Or is it supposed to be Gene's?), and I loved Gene's multiple reactions - annoyed, gruffly humorous, tender - and then came Alex alone. Just heartbreaking. I'd like to think something better was granted her, and it wouldn't just be a purgatory of waiting.
But as for your writing, it's lovely.
| GeneHuntress chapter 1 . 6/6/2013
Brilliant as ever. Hope the muse returns again soon. xx
| Lifeinthe80s chapter 1 . 6/6/2013
I loved it, the twist at the end was great! You led me to believe that Gene and Alex were finally together, then BAM, Alex is sitting alone in the Railway Arms!
As usual your writing is amazing(:
| hayleyfrickinglaame chapter 1 . 6/6/2013
Even though you haven't updated for a while (years...joking ;) this is really beautiful and if you have the time of course could blossom into something more beautiful than it already is :))
| Snapecharmer1 chapter 1 . 6/6/2013
No matter how sad, it is still quite a wonderful thing to wake up and discover a new Ashes fic by you in my inbox. Lovely, as always. Heartbreaking, as well.
| wombledon chapter 1 . 6/6/2013
Oh man. This made me well up! You can still write - don't doubt yourself. In fact, if you need more 'practice' you could always write a sequel to this. ;-)
| Malena Hunt chapter 1 . 6/5/2013
That was beautiful. You should definitely go back to writing.
| BootRat chapter 1 . 6/5/2013
Well that was heartbreakingly brilliant. It's so long since I've read anything that you wrote that I forgot how brilliant your writing is! It's nice to have something of yours to read even though your stories are on hiatus. B xxx
| theHuntgoeson chapter 1 . 6/5/2013
How wonderful to see another story from you. Of course you can still write prose, beautifully and heartrendingly. This is marvellous - you lull us into a sense of false security with the beautifully written description of awakening and lovemaking, only for the dream to begin to shatter with the sinister words "See you around", and the awakening is unbelievably bleak. The idea of poor Alex waiting alone in the deserted, derelict pub, abandoned even by Nelson, left in limbo by her unbreakable ties to the one man who does not come, is one of the bleakest conclusions any of us Ashes writers have dreamed up, and it's wholly convincing. Please write more when you can - we miss you!
| SkulduggeryCain chapter 1 . 6/5/2013
"to see if I could even still write prose"
I think I should go and pack my bags and lose my hopes of ever getting published. If this is what you can produce just by thinking about it after a huge break, I don't know why I waste my time... This is INSANELY good and I don't know whether it's a one-shot or a fic, but either way it was beautiful and I hope to see more from you again soon. :D
