how gentle your writing is...how new and fresh.
how very like spring.
| budchick chapter 1 . 1/27
This is beautiful. That vague sense of happiness as the women were washing their laundry. But I think I liked the ending best, about spring and hope and all sorts of wonderful things. It was a great metaphor and very nicely done.

You paint with your words, this is absolutely exquisite.

OMG I love ALL of your fics, literally all of them. Just fascinated by your flow of words, every single sentence you write is a prose! Hope you would continue to write more fanfics, the site needs someone like you!

It might be an older piece, but this is lovely as always. :) Your language is so luscious! It's just enjoyable to read and savor the imagery that you put into every piece.
Elements in this I especially enjoyed: what a creepy little jerk Izuna actually is. Putting together illusions like that is a terrifying notion in its own right! I had a feeling in the story that maybe he planted some part of himself in Madara's brain, too, so the dream wasn't entirely just a dream but Izuna was still THERE, influencing things, if on another plain. I just liked the theme of these wonderful illusions and dreams beguiling people away.
Also, the scenes at the compound! Not just Madara and Hashirama, but the descriptions of the families interacting, of the women, free to be friends when they weren't enemies. I loved the aside of an Uchiha woman "shouting" Tobirama away from the clothesline, I just pictured him looking so befuddled, he didn't even realize he was in the way and suddenly there's a busy woman screaming at him to step on out.
Also, Madara and Mito working on sealing together and Mito being hopelessly awkward. I enjoyed them as not-friends who still got on in this regard and had things to say to each other. There's a lot of lovely pieces in this story and I'm glad to see it. Canon events notwithstanding it's wonderful. :)

I've missed your writing so much. Even as an older work, it's so much more interesting and in depth than 90% of what I manage to dredge up on this website. So what a treat it was to whimsically see if you'd decided to post again and find this! I've probably read literally every one of your stories, and regardless of pairing-adored everyone. Well except-ironically-the ItaHina stories, because that's just a pairing I don't do. Hopefully this means you're back to stay? (And if you wanna do another KisaIta, personally I'd have a happy heart-attack because I've practically memorized Sirens Singing at this point and good writing for that pairing is impossible to come by;) ) But anyway, loved the story!

Ugh, you, stop making me ship them again.
This is *gorgeous*, in the way your prose always is. It captures the complexity that the manga missed, and I can see the seeds of the Uchiha-Senji split and Hashirama-Madara breakup being planted again.
I love Madara as you write him, still so consumed by his lifetime in war, and quick to take insult because, for so long, pride sustained the Uchiha too. I love that his disdain for the *practicalities* of peace comes through. His meeting with Hashirama is brilliant in how it's all there on display, while Hashirama tries (and doesn't always succeed) in trying to balance "offering help" with "not being condescending".
Everything about Izuna and Madara made me T_T
The meeting between Madara and his retainer HEARTS. Just as he's out of place among Konoha, he's also drifting away from his own tribe.
Haha, I see your Mito love here. She's exquisite, of course. I love your descriptions of her, I love you commenting on the paradox of Mito being a kunoichi and yet dressed so elaborately (and Madara wondering at the influences behind them).
Plus this line, I love it:
"You must know," she says. "Our clan has no bloodline, and yours has only that. You made a weapon of your body and I made one of my mind. We have always changed ourselves to fit the world. He is—how can he understand, growing things as he does? If he does not care for the lay of the land he simply makes it anew. The way he sees it perhaps the world can be changed to fit what he is. Perhaps the world should."
IT IS SO PERFECT.
And Madara/Hashirama were excellent, obvs. Their complexity. The ways they understand each other and the ways they don't. Madara wanting to be closer, and yet retain independence so that he (and his clan) is not "shaped" by Hashirama. Small gestures standing much stronger than any "ceremony" could.
THE LADIES APPEARING.
Also, Mito again, because MITO.

'The Naka River (南賀ノ川, Naka no Kawa; Literally meaning "River of Southern Joy") is a river flowing through Konohagakure.' Naka southern joy, no of, kawa river. Naka, not 'Nakano'.
Sorry but seeing this bugs me.

I'm not great with comments but - lovely fic.
One thing though - as I was reading through there were a couple of sentences that had a word missing from them. I could still understand but I just thought I'd let you know.

As always, I enjoy your writing. It's such a sensual pleasure to read with so much thought behind it :) I don't think that this is so au. It is different to what Kishi wrote but very close in many ways - there's a thin veneer between what you've written and what Kishi has and they stem from the similar places. Bleh what I am trying to say is that it does not feel like an au when you read it. Did you Hashirama's flashback chapters?

The first fanfic ever since 2011. I'm so happy you decided to grace us readers with more again.
I admire your choices of words and sentence structures. They have this certain kind of smoothness and beauty that awe me every damn time. Have you ever considered publishing books? I really think you should, if some day you're interested. Gonna be major hits.
It's a lovely story. The interaction between Hashirama and Madara is simply...mesmerizing. Not OOC either. Please keep up the good work.
