Fleur24 chapter 20 . 10/2/2015 So Martha Jones has joined the crew. The Doctor just doesn't do well with the mothers. |
Fleur24 chapter 19 . 10/2/2015 For someone so brilliant and charming, he's such an idiot at times, and rubbish at social conventions. That was... I don't know, nice(?) of Rose. Waiting for Martha, before going off to find the Doctor. Or she just knew how addicting being with the Doctor and saving the world could be. HEHE Doctor gets distracted by Rose's legs. |
Fleur24 chapter 18 . 10/2/2015 HEHE the Doctor has a probably long explaniation about their last minute invitation, and all Rose does is flutter her eyelashes prettily at the door man. He's so hopeless without her. One of the most important men in the universe gets excited over little shops in hospitals and nibbles. Bless Rose for putting up with him. Rose is Martha's new best friend, and the Doctor's lucky to call her, his own. |
Fleur24 chapter 17 . 10/2/2015 This chapter was rather bittersweet, but honest. At least Martha and Rose's talk was. Though the the Doctor's hesitation to talk about Face of Boe's words is understandable. Hope, while a really good thing, can be devastating if what you hope for does happen or because it only got worse and not better. |
Fleur24 chapter 16 . 10/2/2015 The Doctor and Rose have gone to some pretty extreme lengths for the other. Oh Jack! that's one thing I love about your rewrite, is how Rose found out that Jack was the Face of Boe. Best of friends and practically siblings. First the Doctor calls her out, and now Rose does. Knowing someone for three days does give someone the right to demand answers especially not what Martha was demanding answers to. I liked how she noticed Rose's necklace and finally understood at least in a small way the nature of their relationship. I'm glad that she apologized for her pettiness and assumptions of them. |
Fleur24 chapter 13 . 10/2/2015 HECK YES! The Doctor totally shot Martha down on her spite and petty jealousy of Rose. I freaking loved it! Martha is brilliant, no doubt about it, but she does focus on the wrong things. I also love the tales of Rose's cooking. Just from the banana bread story, I think its a good thing Rose lived with Jackie. Rose is the only on the TARDIS has ever allowed to rewrite history, so that means she's pretty freaking special! |
Fleur24 chapter 12 . 10/2/2015 Yes Martha, believe it or not, there are thing s that Rose knows more about, than you do or have no knowledge of at all. Rose keeps him fighting, harm/hurt/maim her, and you're dead meat. I absolutely loved the scene in the abandoned globe, with them being Benedict and Beatrice and reciting lines back and forth. The Doctor still has darkness about him and in his head, but as long as he has his Rose, he won't lose himself to the darkness. Love the reference to their first Christmas, and being Elizabeth 1's sworn enemies. |
Fleur24 chapter 11 . 10/2/2015 He's willing to do domestics for Rose and her alone, but even then there is a limit to how far he'll go. I do love it though when he does announce her as his wife. gives me the warm fuzzies! With Shakespeare flirting with Martha, it was natural that the Doctor's protectiveness would come out. So Rose has noticed Martha's dislike of her and infatuation with the Doctor. I can understand the Doctor's obliviousness to it all, because he only has eyes for Rose, even in canon, he was pining after his loss of her. Looks, sounds and flies like a witch, but isn't one.' Funny that, just makes things more complicated. The Doctor and Rose can certainly understand the pain and loss that losing one's family can bring. Only with the Doctor and Rose, is 'the usual' someone trying to take over the world or end it. Yep no such thing as normal here. Shakespeare is brilliant, all those scarily accurate comments about her and the Doctor's relationship and all of them said causaly almost flippantly. Oh dear, the Carrionites strike again. Rose shall need her Doctor once again. |
Fleur24 chapter 10 . 10/2/2015 Martha Jones, don't go disparaging on Rose, because you'll all highly educated and she's not. Makes me want to knock some sense into her. She can see that the Doctor and Rose are mad for each other, but is still trying to push in. I did like that reference to the Bad Wolf. The Bad Wolf and her Oncoming Storm. |
Fleur24 chapter 9 . 10/2/2015 While I agree that Martha's less admirable points give her depth and character, not mention make her 'human', it gets very annoying when she dismisses Rose as a worthy companion just because she grew up on the Powell Estates. Rose is brilliant, clever and disarmingly charming, but Martha doesn't see her as that. Yes he needs someone who challenges him, and makes him a better person/alien, but that's exactly what Rose does. She reminds him when he's rude and to always give the 'villain' a second chance before resorting to violent means. |
Fleur24 chapter 8 . 10/2/2015 I can see why Rose gets so upset. She's used to knowing how things will end, having already be through them before. It's got to be frustrating not to have that foreknowledge anymore. Rose will not be happy about his plan. I can believe that she'd bring him back only to kill him herself. Rose's Torchwood skills really came in handy here, with killing the slab and keeping Miss Finnegan from drinking all the Doctor's blood. Rose and the TARDIS are ganging up on him, because they're right. They were both scared for the other and so acted on that. She is his partner and lover, not just his companion. Oh dear, Martha, Martha, Martha. I don't mind Martha, as she is brilliant, and its hard not to fall in love with the Doctor, but she knows that Rose travels with him and that their close. |
Fleur24 chapter 6 . 10/2/2015 I rather like how Rose was the one to notice the plasma coils first, being part of the TARDIS has its benefits. Oh she's get to keep being Rose Tyler. John and Rose Tyler. I like it. The aftermath of Canary Wharf was horrible enough to make anyone wary of hospital beds. Just like after Donna, the Doctor's been opening up more about his feelings for Rose, and things that scare him. The whole thing about being in on his adventure with Ben Franklin was a lovely touch. Brilliant Rose got the Doctor to admit that she was right! |
Fleur24 chapter 5 . 10/2/2015 I like how the Doctor finally told Rose about what happened to Jack. Its hard to really angry with either, as Jack was their friend, and something rather awful happened to him. |
Fleur24 chapter 4 . 10/2/2015 "Here was a man who appearantly had the whole universe at his fingertips, but still looked at Rose as if she was at the center of it all." oooo I absolutely loved that. That's the Doctor and Rose to a tee. One thing you must never do if you wish to live, never put the Doctor in a trap, and never mess with his Rose. Oh Donna! Scared the Doctor stiff with thoughts of weddings. I absolutely loved how the Doctor admitted that he wasn't already and told Rose why. That's a huge change in his character and even is relationship with Rose. I also love the way that Rose responded to his question and asked one of her own. "You're never going to stop trying to fix me, are you?" he asked softly, raising a hand to brush the hair out of her face. "Never ever," She said with a smile." The Doctor needs his Rose, and she needs him. Neo-human, I like that. |
Fleur24 chapter 3 . 10/2/2015 Yes, that trick of bursting into tears is a very useful one. Though I did love Rose's response about it to the Doctor. That song used is very appropriate for Rose and the Doctor, breathtakingly so in terms of canon. Rose is the nicer, more polite one of the duo, but he's rude and not ginger for a reason. Besides, its rather adorable how excited he gets when he being clever and putting together puzzle pieces. I do like the Doctor's subtle move to hide Rose, so that the Empress doesn't know that he had the Huon particles as well. |
