| ThatOneFan chapter 2 . 7/19/2013 (This is technically about something in chapter 3, I just forgot to add it in with the big stuff) I loved the quick mention of "Love Don't Roam". It's a song I adore, and I knew about it before I knew it was related to Doctor Who. I had thought it sounded like it was made for Doctor and Rose, and only found out later that that was because it actually was. I really do love the song, and it does seem like it would become the pair's personal 'Our Song' somewhere down the line. (Like 'Moonlight Serenade' would totally have been Rose and Jack's. And really, who says only romantic couples get to have an 'Our Song'?) I just enjoyed the fact that the song that really struck him down over Rose in the original timeline was something he danced to with her instead this time. |
| ThatOneFan chapter 3 . 7/19/2013 Mmmm, so far this is going well. Admittedly the only real changes have been that there is a 3-way banter instead of just Doctor and Donna, but we just haven't hit the point in the episode where Doctor's own personal changes and Rose's influence would really effect the original episode. - I do have to wonder at Donna's original title. I love her as a companion, and it was always my opinion she was exactly what the Doctor needed. A best friend, one with absolutely no romantic interest and one who would /not/ take his crap. She made herself as close to an equal in their relationship as any human companion had been, simply by the virtue of not letting him tell her what to do. (TARDIS, Time Lord, yeah. Donna, Human, No!) And her fate at the end of season 4 highlighted it, where she ended up an actual equal before the end. In the original timeline, I agreed fully with her title of "Most Important Woman in the Universe". Now though? I'm not as sure Donna's presence would be as critical when Doctor has Rose there as a equal companion and as a tether to sanity, both of which was what made Donna just so damn important originally. I love her, but I can't see the Doctor letting himself drown in the Thames with Rose still there, regardless of Donna's input. |

Still think you're doing a great job of fitting Rose in - I can definitely see how adding a whole new character to preexisting conversations could be (more than) a bit challenging. |

Yesterday, I got up, went about my day, and around noon checked my laptop for the usual update before remembering that you finished the story. Seeing this new story was a wonderful surprise! I look forward to seeing how season 3 progresses, and how Rose handles confronting the completely unknown after two years of foreknowledge. So many possibilities! Allons-y! -J |
