|Reviews for When Wedding Bells Die|
| The Chicagoan Spitfire chapter 8 . 12/16/2013
Ah, my apologies for reviewing so late! Life has me very, very busy indeed.
Either way, I really was impressed with this chapter, and I loved how it ended. Sure, it does seem rather morose and sullen throughout the entire chapter, but you've managed to keep it lighthearted so that it's not too depressing, which I appreciate.
Now, I'm not sure how long it will be before I can review everything else, but I just want you to know that I'm really proud of how far you've come as a writer. I'm completely impressed with this story and am glad to have encountered it when I did! :D
| The Chicagoan Spitfire chapter 7 . 9/21/2013
This was a very touching chapter. I can imagine how difficult it was for Evren to spill her heart out to Scorpion's deceased family and clan, but mainly his wife. Being in love with someone who was once married is no easy task, but it's nice to see Evren beginning to come to terms with everything. Surely, there will be trouble along the way with no facilitation, but Scorpion and Evren are two powerful characters. They'll make it through. :)

First and foremost, I'm VERY sorry for taking so long to review! I've been extremely busy and planning ahead isn't my thing, but I'm glad I was able to finally get some time to read and review this chapter. I'm not sure if I'll be able to read all of the next chapters after this one, but I will try my best.
Now, this chapter was very deep. Evren clearly feels a lot of guilt for a lot of things that really aren't her fault, but this shows her true character. For a demon, Evren really does have a good heart and that's what makes her a very unique character. In fact, she's a lot more unique than Sareena in many ways.
I'm hoping that she can come to terms with everything that has happened between her and everyone in the Netherrealm. Maybe when Scorpion finds her, things will finally begin to become normal again...
| Rae F. Scott chapter 9 . 8/28/2013
I really enjoy this story. Keep up the good work. Can't wait for the next chapter.

"Scum-sucking skid mark" is one of the more creative insults I've come across. It's even funnier, when you consider that Evren's calling Quan Chi that ... in her thoughts. She isn't gutsy enough to say that to his face, which is, overall, a good thing.
I'm glad you didn't put another sex scene at the end of the chapter. Your lemons are pretty good, but I think they've had enough risky sex for a lifetime. ;) Like you said in your note, they needed to have a cute moment that didn't involve sex or angst.
| Obelisk of Light chapter 8 . 8/23/2013
In spite of all the heart-wrenching angst involved, this chapter is very adorable. They've finally acknowledged that they're a couple!
It's sad that Evren can't help Scorpion any more. I like Quan Chi in the games, but in this story, he deserves to die slowly and painfully ... and stay dead. I'm off to R&R the next chapter.

No problem! :D I know I'm not on much these days, but I hope you never think I forget about your awesome story-writing skills!
And, there goes Mileena again... Lol. I can't even tell you how much I enjoyed this chapter, so I'll keep the fangirling to myself. cx
| Obelisk of Light chapter 7 . 8/11/2013
This is yet another angsty and beautiful chapter. I like Raiden's cameo; your characterisation of him is a mix of the first movie and the new game. I don't get why he's invited to the wedding, though; he and Shinnok aren't exactly on friendly terms, and Quan Chi openly manipulated him back in MK9. If the invitation's a plan, it's a stupid one on Quan Chi's part. (It's something I should've realised in my first reading, but my attention was clearly on other aspects of the chapter back then.)
Scorpion and Evren's conversation is heartwarming and angsty in equal measure. I fear their forbidden romance might have the bitterest of endings.
| Obelisk of Light chapter 6 . 8/7/2013
This is the most heart-wrenching chapter of WWBD. Evren talking to Kana and Jubei is sad beyond words; I'm almost moved to tears. It's moments like these that make good OC love interests stand out.
It looks like Raiden might show up. (I'm more excited about it than I should be.) Anyway, I look forward to the next chapter.

Noob is a complete ... well, there aren't enough expletives in the world for him right now in my book. And to think that I found him funny in the initial chapters of NFNF ...
I don't know how I feel about Mileena. Is she being daft or manipulative? It looks like the latter to me, but it could be the former too.

Whoa! I did not expect Scorpion to pour his heart out to her like that, and despite that being somewhat OOC - even for him - I fucking LOVED this chapter because of it! I know a lot of canon-sticklers are probably giving you a bit of smack for how you portrayed Scorpion's emotional reaction to Evren's self-doubt in this very chapter, but me? I'm not even going to do that. If anything, this was so impressive that I am truly commending you for it.
This was really, profoundly amazing - so much that I can't really find the right words to tell you how much this chapter moved me. Seriously. I really don't think people give you enough credit for all of your hard work, and honestly? You really deserve more reviews, favorites, and follows. This fan-fic is just THAT awesome.
I'm sincerely impressed with how you didn't just type one short chapter and then have Scorpion fall in love with Evren before chapter 3 of NFNF. You took your time with it all, gradually taking things to where they are now. Having said that, I'm going to go grab a Kleenex and wipe my happy tears from my eyes.
Before you ask, yeah. Reading this chapter and especially during the part where Scorpion professed his love for Evren did make me cry. Normally, it's really difficult for any literary work to have that much power over my own tepid emotions, but this seriously did it. You should be proud of yourself for this! xD

Well, what a pleasant surprise! xD
I didn't expect Scorpion and Evren to come up with an alibi just to get away from Serik and the other guy so that they could get it in, but I do have to say that I REALLY liked how they played the whole "Evren isn't feeling well. I'll take her to get checked out" thing off well. Though, I think it's fairly obvious that it clearly wasn't easy.
I really don't have much else to say about this awesome chapter, other than that I really enjoyed all of the effort you put forth into writing it. As I've already mentioned several times, I still consider you one of the very few talented writers on this site.
Great update! :D
P.S. I love how you used the word 'concupiscent' correctly. Not a lot of people even know what it means, let alone how to use it in its correct context.
| The Chicagoan Spitfire chapter 2 . 8/2/2013
So, I finally managed to snap out of my lazy romp. Took me long enough. xD
Anyway, I loved this chapter a lot more than the first. Partially because of how you go into detail in regards to Evren's pain and heartache toward her current, unfortunate situation, and especially because of everything that's going on in Scorpion's boggled mind. These love (well, in Noob's case, lust) triangles are something very complex and difficult for many of us to write about, but I admire how you pull it off so well without trying too hard.
Now, I'm curious as to what the cliffhanger in this chappie will bring about in the next chapter, but I'm sure it won't disappoint. Though, I am guessing that I already have a slight idea of what's going to happen next. xD
| Obelisk of Light chapter 4 . 8/1/2013
Finally, the confessions are here! I suppose it's a tad bit OOC for Scorpion, but it's hard to keep anyone in character after so many chapters without turning them into a running gag. So, I consider his confession as legitimate character development.
It's sweet to see Scorpion not rejecting her in her demon form. Their relationship has sure come a long way from the bathroom romp. ;)
