I really like this one - interesting dynamics between John and Sherlock. You can tell that John really had to have this realization at some point or he would never have been able to stay with Sherlock as long as he did! :)

So, wow. This was not only a good story, but quite good advice for living with a roommate as well (which I do, every day :-). A) You're not always mad about what you think you're mad about, and B) sometimes a compromise actually makes everybody fairly happy. Yep ... that about covers it. :-P Very nice, thanks for writing!

Oh, this was lovely. John's (your) reasoning processes rang true and in character. "Who do you think taught me to deduce?" Heehee! Love it!

Lovely! I loved this little one shot. It was written beautifully and I loved how you wrote them and their lovely complicated relationship.

"I appreciate that you're willing to do the shopping. I—regret that I didn't think to text you about the milk."

That is as much as an apology John will get. Sherlock was so sweet.

I thought that Mrs Hudson bought their food? She seems to feed them a lot, and I don't think I've seen either of them cook a meal together. Nor does milk need 'solving' - especially for men. It needs dumping out of the mind, and in again when they discover they need milk, mostly for tea and cereal, which is not as important as cases to them.

Sherlock, however, could need milk for a science test - I think if he needed more chemical ingredients, it would've merged better with food on a normal shopping list. John could be saying, "Arsenic, copper oxide, helium... and milk? Why do we need milk?" Just a suggestion.

Their dialogue syntax does sound like both of them. I could hear them in my head.

Ha! This was absolutely precious and I loved it. I don't think I've ever read such a complicated extrapolation of the idea of the "milk problem" before, and I don't think I know any other writer who could have written this.

And of course, Sherlock was bloody right. Everyone else would just go with John because it's human nature to assume that Sherlock would be in the wrong, but oh, no. He has to argue his way out of it :p

A couple of minor errors: "catalogued", and I'm not sure "block" is used in England; I've had an English reviewer in my own work tell me the colloquialism is "Tesco's" even though it's not officially called that, but I, or they, could be wrong. A few dropped commas here and there, but nothing major.

John telling himself to shut up made me laugh out loud. Oh, John. It was nice to see that his therapist has got some use, though! And of course, she's right, as far as I can see.

D'aww at their little conciliation there. I think that "buy a bar fridge with a padlock on it for your room" would work too, but John's really not selfish enough for that. :)

I enjoyed that. I've gone on a few walks like that myself and realized some things. Good solution too.
