| Guest chapter 18 . 3/13
I'd been avoiding this because the synopsis made it seem like yet another slog through human misery and depravity both, but it's actually turned into a pretty well thought out fantasy story with a cohesive world and plot. Bookmarked.
| Lord Sia chapter 18 . 3/13
... I... Ouch. That last part made me feel quite sick - entirely intentional, I suppose, but none the less - ouch. It was almost physically painful. No, strike that - it is painful.
In large part because of the desire to have the Psychotic Pair tortured to death for their cruelty. Hypocrisy is never so painful as it is in your own heart.
| Tatl chapter 18 . 3/10
The feather-duster joke killed me, I'm still laughing!
Good story, really deep, I'm eagerly expecting a new chapter!
| Yikari chapter 18 . 3/5
Quite an interesting story you have here, let me tell you.
I would've probably tried to write Joseph closer to how Kirei was before Fate/Zero happened if I ever managed to create a story by myself. Not to say this Joseph isn't crazy-awesome, but I don't think I would've been able to type his internal monologue out even as just a writing experiment. The dude comes off as really chilling in this one.
Other things that I've especially liked include: how the new Germanian Emperor explains things, Derf's 'briefing' in the beginning strongly reminding me of something like a Final Fantasy of old, Karin's talk with the cardinal and 'I am afraid of no ghost!' fight with the fire spirit.
A curious take on many things in a different light, by all accounts. Thank you for sharing!

Yo! I recommend Failed Reset by liefsbutwallkingshadow.
| Archer chapter 18 . 2/28
As one of the reviewers said, Joseph is very reminiscent of Kirie. His wife sounds like Claudia Hortensia and his daughter sounds like a more sinister Caren Hortensia. Not necessarily a bad thing. Keep up the good work. Been following this since chapter one and expect more good content from you.

is joseph like kirei kotomine in fate Stay/Night?
| Kain Everguard chapter 18 . 2/27
So, Louise is exiled from her family, Tabitha is getting tortured, and Kirche is probably being married off or something by the looks of the Germanian political climate.
Albion is probably being over run with Reconquista, don't know what's happening with Tiffania, but if Void attracts Void, Saito should go to war against Albion, meeting Tiffania there.
Joseph is such a dull character. I wish he would die. He's just some overgrown baby with extreme cases of jealousy against his late brother. I really like Vittorio as an antagonist. Gandalfr against his own church? Should be fucking ironic.
| FranticHamster chapter 18 . 2/27
I love the backstory on Brimir and the Gallian king scares the shit out of me.
| illuminio chapter 18 . 2/27
Nice! That was a good chapter) The creeping shadows are closer & closer...
| The Keeper of Worlds chapter 18 . 2/27
Wow, cataclysms all abound:)
| syed chapter 18 . 2/27
Say there are spirit rings for all the five elements, can they be used to help with the windstone crisis?
I always wondered why there was not fifth for the ounder, all his work centered around the number 4 and those base elements, even as a void mage himself, none of his legacy is marked as void, just aligned to one of the elements.
| Twigon Halolover chapter 18 . 2/27
I feel you went abit overboard with the 'it wouldn't make him feel anything' speeches. Not the content, that was good, it made a point, but the fact that there was one every other line. If you want to keep his thoughts like that, that's fine, but you need to make it into a desperate, obsessive need. That's what the constant 'will it make me feel anything?' Thoughts imply, anyway.
Also, mr. NoFeels doesn't seem to realize that the drive to find something to feel must be driven by a feeling itself. Otherwise, no feelings means that there's nothing in his head beyond survival instincts- and what he's doing is NOT conducive to his continued survival.

Don't know if you notice, but you wrote that Joseph (hate) making decision. Isn't that emotion?
