ONLY if you're already inclined to such behavior. If you are naturally less likely to do certain things more power will (depending on the individual's willpower and values/ principles) at most exacerbate those inclinations. Those who believe in and preach either of these & other such sayings are likely prone to descent into "corruption" and "power-trip induced complacency /stupidity".

I like this story so far. I am hoping Naruto to not suddenly become a village/ bijuu sympathizer just because he "sees the darkness". There are more than enough fics where the Villages are depicted as the grey guys (let's face it, none of them are good) in contrast to Akatsuki as the bad ones.

I just finished ch17 and there is 11 more out already, but I'm still hoping.

I loved this story. It gave a twist on the canon and actually made a lot of sense in how it worked apart from Zetsu not sensing the Nine Tails’ chakra inside Naruto. The pairing was good, despite it being unusual and gender bending (I won’t give the pairing since it doesn’t take effect till the very end), and the length was alright, as well as the ending. Overall, great story.

Haha, even though the story is pretty serious, the bit where Gai ‘recognises’ Kisame cracks me up massively
