Hi, so you don't seem active anymore, but I thought I'd just throw this out there.

All I did was read the summary to this fic and I was struck with inspiration for my own story. After writing my own (Dark Thunder Cries - Star_Of_Flame_Eternal) I came back to actually read yours and wow. That last line, perfection. It fits pretty well with the concept I wrote.

This was amazing! Excellent writing. Obviously, SAM doesn't remember this conversation in the series. I wish they had more moments like this.

Loved this story and how protective Dean was, even though Sammy was trying to be brave. So glad Dean was able to get through to him and let Sam know that it is okay to be scared sometimes.

Awww, a bit of foreshadowing there? Sam felt safer with Dean by his side, but there are so many bad things coming for him. Dean has a lot to deal with too, but neither of them expected what they find out in the future. Destiny is a bunch of crap, and I'm glad that the boys stayed together through most of it.

I wish you would write a sequel to this, where Sam takes Dean up on his offer. Please?

I used to be scared of thunderstorms when I was nine, but now I kind of enjoy them.

Dean's love for his little brother is beautiful. He is so protective of Sam.

'if you're ever scared of anything you can tell me. I don't care how old you are, if you feel afraid, and I mean even a little bit, you can always come to me' - Yeah. Apart from the most recent series finale, I haven't seen evidence of that recently.

Yay! You're back! I loved this! Soooo sweet. Dean being the big brother/father figure even at this age. So beautiful. Even at this age, Dean would do anything for Sam, including admitting he had fear, and he was completely honest about it. That always has been and always will be his greatest fear - losing Sam. And even though Sam lost some of it in later years, although, I maintain he hasn't lost it all completely, even in S8, it's really nice to see his hero worship of Dean shining through. And all I could think about while reading this was Sam's speech in Fresh Blood about following Dean around, looking up to him, trying to be just like his big brother. And knowing everything they go through in the future, this kinda broke my heart. Sam is strong and brave and he has a healthy amount of fear of things, including clowns lol, but like we all witnessed in the S8 finale, Sam's biggest fear was always letting Dean down or not measuring up in Dean's eyes. This was great. I'm so glad you're back and I'm so glad you shared this with us. I have a huge thing for Weechesters and I adored this. Thank you. *hugs*

asdlkfj awwwws! That was just so cute and... ugh! Protective older Dean and sweet, brave (kind of) Sam... but the last line gave me the chills!

This was such a sweet story that helped me, the reader, get a peek inside Deans head at what his coping mechanisms had been thus far to see him through his early hunting training. And let me see that Sam always had a bigger than life expectation of what he imagined real bravery was since he saw only the outside of his big brother's mask.
